I was under the impression u ran a consultancy... if that is the case then Y is this an issue ? Buy them write them off against the buisness, claim back the GCT or VAT and thus reducing tax liability... Change out every year....Last televison I connected to my computer and as I need to monitor the weather patterns it is a buisness expense....

My cell phone I have been told is no longer cute. It doesn't bother me but I definitely can't pull it out in front of a client.

TV...that is a nice to have not a must have. Can likely deal with that during the post Christmas sales this year or next year.
Look forward to the day when son is self-supporting. I would scale down to an even smaller apartment and for sure will have more cash in hand.Comment

in other words u bruk......Yes for sure one can write off certain expenses but, in any business, cash flow is of the essence. In this economy to spend like a drunken sailor or run up a lot of debt is not prudent. I prefer to pay for things cash rather than do monthly payments.

Especially with the nonsense going on in the US, who knows what the economy is going to do. I carefully spread out my major purchases but, in this case, I left it too long.Comment

Okay Camera and Mobile have been upgraded. Dropped a load of cash to get a really nice camera.

I complained bitterly to the guy from whom I buy computers. He services all of my computers. He is ordering a decal for me something like this to put over one of his boring computers. I have asked for a plain pink one with out the swirls.

For my mobile I waited till this one went on sale and bought it for under $100. I put a pink cover on it so it wouldn't be so boring. It works just fine.

So now I have to just go to Brampton and upgrade my desk phone with the headphones. Car upgrade will wait till Spring. I am in no hurry to upgrade the TV to a digital one. The converter from Rogers works fine. Maybe one of these years I will pick up a flat screen digital TV on boxing day but for now, mi noh need it.
The desktop computer is still fine so no need to upgrade that eitherComment
