The tours give Corvette enthusiasts and the general public an up-close opportunity to see how the all-new C7 Corvette Stingray is built.
Plant tours were halted in September 2012 as GM started the process to remodel the plant in preparation to built the C7 Corvette. The automaker invested $131 million to prepare the facility for the new sports car.
“We are delighted to invite the public back into our facility, so we can continue our close-knit customer relationships and educate enthusiasts from around the world about the unique Corvette manufacturing process,” said Dave Tatman, plant manager.
The public tour is a one-mile guided walk-through of the facility and hosted three times daily at 8:30 am, 11:30 am and 2:00 pm CDT. The public tour is $7 and reservations can be made through the new website at CorvetteAssembly.com.
CorvetteBlogger toured the Corvette Assembly Plant on Wedesday and we’ll have photos and video of the experience up soon. For Corvette Enthusisasts who find themselves on South Central Kentucky, the plant tour should be at the top of your agenda!
