Corvette Assembly Plant to Reopen Tours Starting October 14th

Chevrolet announced on Wednesday that Bowling Green’s [COLOR=#00aef0 !important][COLOR=#00aef0 !important]Corvette[/COLOR][/COLOR] Assembly Plant will resume public tours of the facility beginning Monday, October 14th. The tours give Corvette enthusiasts and the general public an up-close opportunity to see how the all-new C7 [COLOR=#00aef0 !important][COLOR=#00aef0 !important]Corvette [COLOR=#00aef0 !important]Stingray[/COLOR][/COLOR][/COLOR] is built.
Plant tours were halted in September 2012 as GM started the process to remodel the plant in preparation to built the C7 Corvette. The automaker invested $131 million to prepare the facility for the new sports car.
“We are delighted to invite the public back into our facility, so we can continue our close-knit customer relationships and educate enthusiasts from around the world about the unique Corvette manufacturing process,” said Dave [COLOR=#00aef0 !important][COLOR=#00aef0 !important]Tatman[/COLOR][/COLOR], plant manager.
The public tour is a one-mile guided walk-through of the facility and hosted three times daily at 8:30 am, 11:30 am and 2:00 pm CDT. The public tour is $7 and reservations can be made through the new website at CorvetteAssembly.com.

Today was very special as we were able to tour the Bowling Green Assembly Plant to see how the C7 Corvette Stingray is made. We'll have a full photo gallery up shortly as well as some video but here is a preview!

Here's another tuner videoing their baseline dyno test of the 2014 Corvette Stingray. Hennessey Performance announced back in July their plans to offer upgrade packages for the C7 ranging from 600 to 1,000 hp!

This 2014 Corvette Stingray was picked up by its new owner and then driven over to Lingenfelter Performance Engineering where it was put on the Dynojet. According to LPE, this 7-speed Manual Z51 C7 puts out 416-hp and 416 ft-lbs torque to the rear wheels!
