mi a hook up one router (linksys) fi mi parents an mi get it hook up wired. But wirelessly mi cyaan get dem laptops to connect wirelessly.

I was doing it through 192.168.1.1 wah mi a duh wrang een deh and what setting should I be setting fi get de other laptops to connect? [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif[/img]

Make sure that the router and the laptops are set to DHCP in the network settings. Also make sure that you are connected to your broadcasted SSID from your router and you entered the correct security key. Let me know.

call linksys....they'll fix you right up. they have great customer support.

i fought with my router for a month

and after i called it was fixed in 30 minutes

there are some new configuration changes

they didn't set me up using the IP you have above - i used to be set up on that one but not now . . .

also a change with PPOe

one laptop will connect tuh de router but not de intahnet.
It muss be supm mi a miss inna mi wireless settings ;think:

You may need to contact your ISP and see if your router needs to clone your ISP's modem MAC address.

How you setup with the ISP? DSL modem? Cable modem?
How the router setup with the security? (On or off?)
You using the router cd or you just trying to connect to the router?
Can you connect to the router with either of the laptop with a cable? (if so, possible the laptop might not be compatible with the current wireless security settings.)

I would love to go wireless but all this talk of , DHCP, SSID, PPOe, wireless G, WIreless B, network adapter cards, network settings, MAC address, clones and security settings is making my head hurt!

yes. go to "view wireless networks". if your neighbors are smart dem will have a on it, so you can't "borrow" it.
