Many of the new android tablets can run Windows 8 very easy so you can have the best of both worlds. To me that would provide better flexibility.

I'm not sure if you are totally stuck on the Samsung Galaxy tab. I have heard some good and not so good things about it. Maybe do some research and see if it is the right tablet for your needs. I have a Samsung Galaxy 2 phone and have no coplaints but as far as tablets go there may be better choices than Samsung IMHO.

I find windows8 irritating. Also less apps than the android.
