Integrated Fiber In The Loop. It is still DSL, but without a modem. Basically it means I'm close to a telco central office. I have used the comcast 6mb download and was impressed with the speed, but not yet willing to pay the price for the upgrade and the inconvenience of having to use a modem. (personal preference)

You certainly don't have FiOS,or you would never 'not see the difference'.
With DSL you have your own dedicated bandwith too,but that is a different kettle of fish.

Nothing of the sort. I said I wasn't willing to pay for the <u>upgrade</u> to 6mbps speed and the <u>inconvenience</u> of a modem. There are two different types of service being talked about in the thread. One is DSL, the other is cable (via comcast.)
