...to play in a DVD for viewing. Do I need to have a special type of DVD disc? I've got a CD/DVD writer... do I need a specific software? I've used RecordNow for CD read-write.

Remember that some DVD players,does not play DVD-R,or DVD+R formats.

In that case, pretty much any DVD copying program should do just fine. Search for one on the net that is freeware. Just doing a DVD disk copy should suffice.
