Thanks for the continued responses to my post. They really do help me cope with this tragedy.
The autopsy came back confirming our suspicions of an overdose. It was meth. We don't think it was deliberate, because a friend of hers went to her temporary housing in a motel the night before and said she was partying with friends. She fell asleep and was snoring before he left. He came back in the morning to find her lifeless body.
I hope and pray that none of you have to go through this with family members. It is so disheartening to see this lovely girl turn into an old looking woman before her time. She looked older than I do. She weighed 92lbs and was 5'7".Comment

I am sorry JaMiss, I know what it is like to watch someone you love battle this addiction.
I have not seen my sister since my Mom died 11 years ago.
at that time she was shooting the stuff in her veins
I asked Seveen to find her for me a few months ago... Being the google expert she is, she found her, but the news was not good... my sister had just been released from prison again in Nevada... Up to the same old thing it seems.. I would not even know what to say to her now...

Dr. Dud: I don't understand why you come in with this information that is inaccurate. If you have a cure please share it with the world, where you will be acclaimed immeasureably. But in the meantime quit mashing up my thread. My daughter went through rehab so many times it wasn't funny and was supposed to be in it again. Our family tried very hard throughout the years to get her off the drugs and alcohol. And quite frankly I don't want you coming back and tell me what shoulda coulda woulda been done. We never accepted it as incurable, just saw what it was doing to her in mind and body. And at the very least I find your response insensitive.Comment

Thanks to the additional people who offered condolences.
We found out that she had hepatitis C, probably contracted by using an infected needle. So now we have to be very careful with her belongings so we are not infected.
The cremation was very expensive in California, but her father and my daughter Angela should be able to pick up her ashes tomorrow morning and begin the journey back to Oregon.Comment
