I'm about to go on a business trip to Jamaica and need some tips on where to stay. I'll be visiting Haughton Court, Lucea and Hanover Parish, Sandy Bay the week of October 27. But, I'm planning to arrive the weekend before so I can visit the island (I'm from PR and I've never been in Jamaica). I was told that Montego Bay was a good option to stay the entire week, and just travel to the locations from there. Any comments will be appreciated.

You should be able to stay in MoBay or Negril.
I think Lucea/Sandy Bay is about midpoint between those 2 cities.
*I* don't like MoBay so I would prefer to stay in Negril
I think there are coupe hotels/huest houses in Sandy Bay as well
someone else familiar with that area might be able to give u more info.
You should njoy urself...looks like you'll be there for Heroes w/end so plenty of activities goin on

I would nix Montego Bay as a place to stay unless you like cities. If you are seeking a more relaxing time, go to Negril!Comment

I love Mobay and stay there on every trip. Central location for any day trips, and close to the airport. What kind of place are you looking for? All inclusive, guest house, villa, small hotel....?Comment

I would follow the advice you've been given, and head for Negril. It's just as close to where your business takes you, and you will relax more.
On a side note, there is a flourescent bay near Falmouth, one of only 3 places in the world where it occurs, much like the one you have in PR. I've you've been to the one in Cabo Rojo, you know its a very worthwhile experience.Comment
