For those of us that are old timers here on jamaicans.com you may remember a couple that posted here in the tourist forums back in the day, Rasta Stan and his wife Betty,
They met a young man during their many travels to Jamaica who was literally bedridden and made it their mission to give him the gift of freedom. They used all the ways and means they could think of (with the help of others) to deliver an electric scooter/wheelchair to this young man and I do believe there was a follow-up story on this site.
Anyway, from Facebook postings and post on other websites it appears Betty has passed.
Many people talk of what they should or could do to make a difference, few actually take action and it is with that in mind that my thoughts are with Stan tonight and I hope he can celebrate a life well lived in his dear wife Betty's memory.
