One of the little girls next door to our yard came to visit and chat with me soon after I arrived. It has been a few years since I have spent any real time with these children (we have had a car so spent little time round our home) - so Davaina is chat chatin ... says to me "how long since I saw you?" I told her it had been about two years ... she says "you looked pretty last time ... WHAT HAPPENED??"

Stan I hope Betty is doing better tonight! I pray you can get to the beach soon to recuperate from this episode in your lives. I will never understand why we inevitably encounter long periods where it seems to be one test after another.

Laurel, there is nothing like a new do to make a woman feel brand new! Well...that and a new car. I highly recommend this therapy! I had all kinds of plans for my middle of the back length swooping hairdo's but when it came down to it, the longer it got the stragglier it looked once it hit bra strap length. I think my hair likes to be shorter because it is baby fine and curly but it's still a foot long so the shock is minimal.. This hanging around a grooming shop stuff has sure been a hair eye opener for sure, something I didn't really dwell on much before...but man...today I was in line at the checkout behind someone who had hair like I had yesterday. I felt bad for her and wanted to tell her she should go get a haircut by a poodle stylist!

I'm having a rebirth this year of sorts after a 5 year absence from life as I once knew it and this is a good thing. It was 1 year ago last week I got my last new hip and I'm finally off to my new life, whatever it may be. Of course it involves beads and dogs, and how lucky can I be for that? because it involves only beads and dogs and music and friends and things of my choosing...retirement is a coupla years late but I'm much closer to what I had in mind than what I got when it happened a few years too soon!

Weather here is not supposed to be so nice for outdoor activities, so I'm hoping to finish up a few projects and maybe start a new one.

I need to finish priming & painting my cupboard and then I want to paint the end walls in my living/dining room.

I want to paint in the worst way but I just haven't got the time! It's only 10 degrees out but will warm up soon I hope! Still better than all the tornados in the south and fires in Texas!

hmm - I was typing out this big schpeel about some lady that was offering all her 'expert advice' about retirement in JaJa ... but - never mind ~

Marnin Laurel! I remember once when reminiscing what it will be like when I retire early and someone telling me not to wish my life away because we never know what will happen in the future and she was so right. Nothing went as planned except the early retirement, sort of. The forced version was not nearly as glamorous as I had planned and it took a whole bunch of years to get everything righted again and I'm finally arriving there slowly but surely!

The biggest difference is Jamaica is not in the plans anymore for long visits. But that was a dream I had when I worked 70 hours a week and broke myself doing it. I don't need Jamaica as bad now that I no longer work those crazy hours. Now I see that for me it was like a dog chasing it's tail. I worked lots of overtime so I could go on my trips, and ended up needing the trips so bad cause I worked so much. Viscious circle it was.
