Weather next week in Jamaica

Hi everyone!

Im new of course. I will be travelling to Jamaica on Sunday and the forecast for the next 6 days is RAIN! Please tell me my trip wont be a wash out. I really want to cancel.

This thread will get moved to the travel section but let me just say that you will have a great time in Jamaica. This time of year does tend to bring the most rain but you will have sunshine too.

i wouldnt cancel if i were u......afterall, you're on vacation and rain in Jamaica is like no other,

rain in jamaica is never usually an all day thing, so you can still have a good time,

if u r planning on getting a tan, that might not be in the works though~

toydeas, weather forecasts for Jamaica are notoriously unreliable...while you may get brief periods of rain in the afternoons, there's really nothing to worry about....just go and have a good time!

I find that while weather.com is very accurate for US weather, their international forecasts are often wrong.

I recommend wunderground.com for international weather.

As someone said eariler, this time of year we're talking isolated thunderstorms and not a rainout that you could expect in the summer when a tropical waves passes through.

if you've never been to Jamaica before, CA is a nice place to get your feet wet (but not from rain ).....great value property...be sure to get out of the resort and explore a little, even if you just go wander around the neighborhood....if you want to do any excursions, I have a friend in the area who's an excellent guide....

I've found that it nearly ALWAYS rains SOMEWHERE in Jamaica everyday, so that is what the forecast predicts.

Rihgt now, in Duncans Bay, Trelawny (north coast) we have not had any measureable rainfall for about a month....tings dry, dry, dry.....we are HOPING for some rain!

Go and enjoy your stay....just hole up in a bar if the rain fall...you'll have a great time anyway!

Majik April is a notorious rainy month in St Ann

but like dem seh...usually di rain is in di early afternoon...


worse come to worse he/she can go Portmore...every weh else a flood out and not even a drop a rain ova deh

u will enjoy it, it can get a bit monotonous, but for 1wk, you'll be fine...there is a gym, tennis courts, the food is good, they have nightly entertainment, you will be good~

The poster was asking about Kingston when I replied.
Mi neva know seh a St. Ann dem waan go.
And I wouldn't say notoriously. April generally dry but like you said northeast get more rain than the southwest.
