One reason I don't like vacations

Tomorrow I return to work after a 3 week vacation - 1 week spent in Jamaica - and I feel so ready to retire to JA!! I shouldn't say that since I need my job to pay for that retirement. Give me a week and I'll be back in my work groove, but boy I hate the "day before returning to work" feeling that happens after every great vacation.

This board isn't helping either...(checking for trip report updates from folks CONSTANTLY).

Anybody else relate?

I know the feeling!!!

It is why I decided I'll not go to Jamaica in Jan or feb anymore either. Normally I love winter, but coming home from the beautiful sunshine and warmth to 20 and 30 below is just too harsh.

Adding back to work on top of that made for a long rest of the winter!

I hope it is less painful for you than the anticipation sounds...

Can I!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have this one friend, she gets so mad at me if I am sad after Jamaica and upon returning to the &quot;real world&quot;. She reminds me that all people would feel that way after any vacation, and that we cannot live life on vacation, but I contend that a return from Jamaica to here is so much more.

Having said that, when people tell me I should move there, I now know better. It is an escape from my reality, I don't want it to become my reality. I don't want to bring the stuff of life to Jamaica. Having said that, I do realize that life there would be 40 times harder than here, and that would be a wake up call for sure.

St Anne Muse, I feel like that TODAY and it's only a regular Monday!!

Now at the end of 3 GLORIOUS weeks of what I like to consider MY reality, going back to the nightmare that is work is just wrong.

Yes we all have to do it, but we don't have to LIKE it!
You have my sympathy.
