GrandDaughter sick in Negril...Prayers Needed

I arrived home today only to find out that Ryan's diarrhea has gotten worse and now she is throwing up. My daughter called around midnight to tell me she has taken a turn for the worse. All emergency physician numbers given by RUI and other Negril Websites are no longer in service. I called a friend who contacted a night taxi to take them to the hospital. As they began to pull out of the hotel, it dawned on me that I could contact T-Small for assistance.

T-Small jumped out of bed and raced to the side of my daughter and they are in route to the hospital. Please keep them in your prayers as I understand the hospital situaion in Jamaica can be a bit overwhelming and not the best care given. I can only put the three of them in the hands of the Lord and have faith that he will see them through.

I can't sleep and dont want to watch TV, so I came online to write a bit. Please, allow me this indulgence to vent online while I wait by the phone for updates. Please, if you care to comment, dont tell me any horrow stories or anything of that nature. I dont think my heart could take reading anything other than payers and well wishes.

It's going to be a long night. But I know that they are in Gods hands and my meeting T-Small again on this trip was his doing for this very reason.

I just called Candice and they are at the hospital. Although Candice has not been able to get Ryan to drink anything or really talk to her very much for the past three hours, the hospital was able to get her to drink a bit of liquid before they give her an IV. I dont know the next corse of action for the hospital, my I am relieved because they arrive safely and I heard Ryan's voice. She sounds really weak, but she is responding.

Candice says the hospital took them right back to see the physician and they seem very responsive to her needs. The hospital isnt too crowded tonight, which is a blessing in itself. I dont know which facility they are in, but it is probably in Sav based on the short time it took for them to get there.

LeAnn is right by her side. My God, what a blessing this women is for me.I just dont know what I would do without her tonight.

Called Delta to change her flight from Wednesday to today. They will waive the change fee $150, but the fare difference is $460. Even speaking with a supervisor didnt help. I explained the situation and this American company, would not assist an American mother with a sick mother by not charging a fare change fee. Can you believe that they tried to justify this by saying that there was only one seat left on the plane. What is this world coming to when you cannot expect setting aside of the bureaucracy for a sick infant.

As for the airlines sorry...censored words looming!! that sux big time ay How incredibly mean of them!! Hopefully by the time you read this someone, somewhere would have come to the party with helping out.

((((Angie)))) sorry to hear about your sweet baby grandaughter. You know, the facilities in Jamaica are old and outdated but the doctors are good....most of them trained in foreign and know what they are doing. I pray she is going to be well soon. Hang in there! The airlines do suck.

I believe the only way the airline would have responded any differently is if one had trip interruption insurance which would have covered a situation like this. I know I never get it, but sometimes in cases like this it would be a blessing.

Oh no! I hope all goes well. The airlines are so heartless! But anyway health is more important than airfare so I pray Ryan gets well soon.
