So how sticky are hotels

with their cancellation policies in JA
This one says no refunds within 30 days of original arrival date. But I booked the thing under a month anyways.

I have changed my mind and want to stay at another hotel however, I secured a previous hotel with a 50% deposit on my credi card.

i could just do a reversal thru my credit card company but they wait a month before executing.

If I call the hotel you think they will stick to them guns

it depends on if it is an independent or a chain hotel. Just call an ask if you can cancel. Lie an tell them you sick or some other family emergency an you will plan to rebook in the future.

I havent had time today but will try tomorrow though. I checked with my credit card company and they said they wouldnt violate the hotels terms and reverse it, so I need to work it out with the hotel.

It is an independent hotel but i will see what they will say if I come up with a decent excuse.

I finally heard back from the hotel i really want to stay at (I had the wrong email address) and would dearly love to stay at the new place. Both seem like wonderful hotels, it is I perfer the other one for this trip cause I cant afford both!

I just spoke to the hotel and they cancelled the reservation with no problem

Just said my family needs me in Kingston and I cant keep the same dates in Porty. She said fine.
