US Airways is launching a seasonal service flying non-stop between its hub of Phonenix in the United States and Jamaica's second city of Montego Bay.
The first flight leaves Montego Bay for Phoenix on December 17. Roundtrip service will be offered from Thursdays to Sundays, with Thursday flights originating in Montego Bay. The service ends on April 12.
“US Airways is excited to add nonstop service to Jamaica from our Phoenix hub to our Caribbean portfolio,” senior vice president, marketing and planning, Andrew Nocella said in a statement today. “This is especially great news for customers in the Western United States, who now have their first one-stop connecting option to Jamaica west of Texas.”
The flights will be operated using Airbus A319 aircraft with seating for 12 in first class and 112 in the main cabin. The first flight leaves Montego Bay for Phoenix on December 17.
The new service links Jamaica with major West Coast cities including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Palm Springs and Las Vegas. The Jamaica Tourist Board will launch an aggressive marketing campaign in the targeted markets to support the service.
