spirit airline flyers

Dear Frequent JA fliers on Spirit.

Do you know if you are flying from JA to US (eg FLL) , when you clear immigration , do you have to go through the TSA security checkpoint to take your connecting flight?

A few years ago this was the case, but am not sure if it has changed.

Regrettably the ticket is already purchased. How shall I ensure the travelers will be able to manage the connection. Shall I encourage said travelers to have minimal carry ons to ensure a swift pass through FLL TSA ?

The FLL TSA is really not as troublesome and the queues move swiftly. Just remember the same liquid carry on restrictions apply.

I don't think the airline matters. if you've cleared customs, you must go thru the checkpoint again. You always go thru customs at the &quot;port of entry&quot; which is the first airport you land at.
Sooooo prior to checking your bags for your connecting flight, remove your duty-free-carry-on-jamaica-farewell-rum from it's carry-on-box-that-was-packed-after-you-cleared-security into your checked-bags-that-you-already-jammed-with-stuff-from-yard or you won't get it thru security.

trust me, they will toss it at security.
