Good morning everyone! We got a dusting of snow last night. It looks so pretty. Brought my big ferns in Nooks...lawd dem big and take up nuff space in basement.

Marnin holics! Schultz, hopefully your big job of trying to save the ferns will be successful! I'm thinking as long as the roots stayed healthy the plant will come back. Give it a good drink now!

I have a toasty warm shop and Val is coming with a truck load of wood and another truck with my snowblower. I made some chilie relleno's for the occasion and now it's almost time to kick back until the work gets here! I have to tidy up the kitchen is all...

QK I will pray for your Mom even if she is home.

Got solar hot water, but it doesn't work. Called the guy several times and he just can't get around to coming out again. I am not really concerned yet because Ted's brother is going to install a water pump. He thinks that will help the problem since water pressure is so low in the hills. He is buying it in Mobay and will return to Negril tomorrow. Don't know when he can install since he is working on the neighbor's home. Going to sign off because computer is acting up. Lata.

JMiss good to see you! Don't be sorry for my snow, I LOVE snow, it is is one of my favorite things and I'm happy to report that a big storm is on it's way for tomorrow! I'll take a foot of snow over 80 degrees any day. Yep, so I'm not righted...

Val is still here, we got lot's done this weekend. I'm finally all the way ready for winter! Bring it on man...

there is a gentleman in the Negril area named Mark Swainbank that may be able to help you with your solar installation - he worked on all the solar at the Abbajahnoy Gardens up from the Texaco station

frost and freeze are different so you may be okay

now i don't know a thing about yard work

but last summer i planted a shrimp plant and some kind of tulip something - nice vine thing with lovely pink flowers

it got down to 27 degrees here for several days and those plants looked like wilted spinach in the front yard

i was so disappointed (i even threw blankets over them)

abu begged me not to buy and kill any more plants

lo and behold - my shrimp plant is blooming nicely in my front yard again - right now

gonna add some extra mulch out there to prepare for the &quot;winter&quot;

it's supposed to be 80 here on wednesday!

I think we have seen the last of any warm days for a while. My heater is on every night.

Question for the ladies here, I think we are mostly around the same age group. I am going thru perimenopause. Is that what it is call? Having a lot of troubling sleeping at night, however, the worse for me is the feelings of sadness almost to the point of depression that comes from out of the blue, bouts of crying spells but I can not pinpoint any reason for these feelings! The mood swings, sadness, depression and sometimes I feel as mean as a alley cat!

I have a dr's appt at the end of this month and I dont want to go on a anti depressant but this is getting the best of me right now and I dont have a clue how long it is going to last!

Anyone else going through or have went through this recently? Was there anything that helped the mood swings?

eta: My best friend is a year older than I am and she is at the tail end of it, however, she is of no help, she went thru a 2 year depression and she is just getting back to her old self. No medication for her, she basically went to work and spent the last 2 years in bed when she was not at work having a pity party!

i had a doctor tell me that i was in perimenopause all my life before menopause

anyway check down in health and fitness - loops is having some success with black cohoosh

don't know if it works for mood ways

but seems to be working for hot flashes

i've heard st john wort mentioned as an anti-depressant - but i hear it's not good long term

just go get some zoloft and done. nothing will bother you then...trust me.

the cohosh is working great for me, but that's a nite sweat thing...can't tell you if it affected my moods...because my moods are just fine with the aforementioned meds.

NDG, sorry to hear. I am no help I had instant menopause and it was great! Yep, getting those bothersome parts out of my body was the absolute best thing ever. I hope you feel better soon!
