Experienced Travellers... HELP!!!!

Question:

I usually take a direct charter flight from Toronto to Mo Bay and back with no fees for checked luggage.

This is my very first time using connecting commercial flights to get to Jamaica.

My schedule is Toronto to Charlotte/Charlotte to Mo Bay flying U.S. Air. Returning I am Mo Bay to Washington D.C. and then from D.C. to Toronto flying United.

Anyway, my question is this. When I check my luggage in Toronto I gather I pay $$$ per bag. However when I arrive in Charlotte and change planes to go to Mo Bay, do I have to pay to check my luggage again even though I'm using the same airline on the second leg of my trip that I used for the first?

If you have a through ticket, meaning MoBay/Toronto is your final destination, you do not have to pay again.

You pay each time your bags are checked (or re-checked), if you're not re-checking your bags then you will not have to pay.

make sure u get ur bags checked thru to MoBay and u will pay one time. If you collect them and check on to a different airline u will have to pay their fee

I sure wish I had that option from Reginabecause changing planes is a real pain.</span>

Yes, I will probably do so next time but this time I wanted to travel cheap and I managed to get a great deal on these connecting flights so I jumped at them.

Praying there is not another storm on the U.S. east cost during my travel days.
