At home I've the on both sides of my walk way leading to my front door in white, pink, candy apple, red and yellow.

Then the cold spell came and burn off all the flowers. I was so heartbroken

oh - Roots ... that is so very lovely!!

I wanted to get a couple of those for myslef for Christmas ... never did tho. I wanted some Orchids as well.

Maybe that should be task this weekend ... get some bulbs in so I have something purty to look upon ...

If you live in a cold climate they have to be dug up and stored dormant for winter. I had one for quite a few years and it was a while back but I think there was a few months I'd store it in a cool not cold room and not even water it. I'm sure you can google it and find out proper storing.

sometimes i wonder where my mind has gone....

ya know how mindlessly you get dressed in the morning...but follow a set sequence. well, this morning, for some odd reason, i changed the sequence. i put on my socks & shoes....then my pants. first leg of pants was a problem; i realized shoe was too big & panthole too small. now, the reasonable person would back up, take off pantleg & start over. NOT ME!!!

i kept going, pulling hard until i got my pantleg stuck tight over my shoe...hmmmmm. now i was a little mad at myself....i considered taking off the shoe, but couldn't cuz it was stuck to my foot by the pantleg....well, let me tell you, it took me all of 15 minute to get the stupid pantleg off & start over.

but you can teach an old dog new trick....

morning all

well abu got suspended from school for fighting

some kid in his class punched him in the back and pushed him

abu did one-two-three - to the jaw, bloody lip on other kid, and 2 broken brackets on the other kid's braces

the school policy is to suspend both parties that are fighting - 'cause the teachers never see anything

i talked to our resident former guidance counselor and she told me that is pretty much the school policy everywhere

but that now that abu had demonstrated his skills some of the teasing and bullying might stop

she said consider it &quot;collateral damage&quot;

oh Sev's .... too right ~ I hope the bully's will quit now that the first punch has landed!!

I never had any of that with my Bwoy Child ... plenty of other stuff - but not any fights.

Good for Abu. I had a similar problem when my son was younger, and it was indeed collateral...they never picked on him again, they were afraid of the pick guy who did karate.

of course i don't want him to resolve every situation this way - and we talked about that - but sometimes you gotta stand up for yourself

they tease him about being small, black, beaver teeth - he has braces now so some of that has stopped - and the teachers don't hear or see anything - even with Florida's anti bully law

i emailed the school today and discussed &quot;their failure to protect&quot; - no response <span style="font-family: 'Comic Sans MS'">yet</span>
