MONTEGO BAY, St James -- JetBlue Airways on Monday added a fourth daily flight to Jamaica with the launch of its service from the Orlando International Airport to Montego Bay's Sangster International Airport (MBJ).
"Jamaica is a popular destination and with the growing Caribbean population in Central Florida this new service by JetBlue will be a welcomed addition to Orlando and give passengers more options to travel to an established market," said Jim Rose, senior director of business services, Greater Orlando Aviation Authority.

Last May, the airline began service to the island with daily flights from JFK International in New York to Montego Bay.
Then five months later, the carrier inaugurated flights between JFK and Norman Manley International in Kingston.
JetBlue also operates flights between Boston, Massachusetts and Montego Bay.
Chad Meyerson, JetBlue's sales and marketing manager for the Caribbean and Latin America -- who arrived on the flight from Orlando with 65 passengers and four crew members -- told reporters at a brief reception at the Sangster International Airport that the airline has exceeded its expectations since it began service to the island.
"At JetBlue we always look for opportunities where we know customers want to travel to and where we feel we can offer superior products. Montego Bay, and in fact the beautiful island of Jamaica, has been a destination that has been requested by JetBlue for many, many years and since we started we have seen such a great response; it is unbelievable," Meyerson said.
Meanwhile, regional manager at the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) Rosie Johnson said JetBlue's inaugural flight from Orlando to Montego Bay shows the high level of confidence in "our destination".
She also commended the airline's decision to add the Orlando to Montego Bay route to its itinerary, noting that airlifts play a critical role in the success of any destination.
