What is the look on white rasta in Jah?
I'm considering a long stay in Jamaica in a few years to get away from the Babylon a littl.
But sometimes you hear about Jah rastas not appreciating white man rasta?

Well, all &quot;waspafarian&quot; aknowledge eachother in the streets. There's no signature handshake really, it differs alot, mostly its just palm-palm, handshake, hook clasp and knuckles.

OK so mi nuh to privy to this onformation. Mi know knuckles is probably a fiss bump. Handshake dat mi <span style="text-decoration: line-through">understand</span> ovaastand too. But a wah name hook clasp and pampam? Given that we nuh use the word palm in JA, I assume that it's a warrafarian term.

Off tangent, mi finally learn to do the handshake that dem use in Ghana. It don't work if one a unu has sweaty finga thou.

Listen, I'm 17 and want to learn about jamaican culture. I'm not interested to start a life where everything is about how good a job you have nor about how much money you got. thats part what i try to state with my dreads.

go with plenty of the money you do not care about ... seriously - Jamaica is Sweet, but Not Easy

you need that money to make your way around - get a feel for things ~ make your own experiences ~

No, i haven't, but I've started saving up for it. The plane ticket (one way ) is about 90 000 Jah dollars, so the trip itself wont be a problem. Are there jobs to find over there?

You are not permitted to work on your tourist visa, and you can stay up to 6 months provided you show the immigration officer that you have financial means to support your stay. If you do not, they'll stamp in a week in your passport and your vacation will be cut short.

If you'd like to work to contribute to Jamaica, and since you're at a perfect age to do it, I recommend that you volunteer for one of the many charity organisations.
It might not be the experience you are looking for, but may prove rewarding, as you can meet people and make links for a future trip.

Thats right. I live in Europe, so I'm used to open market.
But the non-profit work sounds interesting.
Could you link or name some good organisations?
