Daydream trip planning

Looking at Jitterbug's trip report photo's has me off and running (atleast in my mind)

I am always thinking next time I go to Jamaica I want to go here and there.

So I am planning in my mind my next reach (God only knows when).

I would start out in TB. I would head through Portland and St. Thomas. I would go through St. Mary and St. Anne. Then through Trelawny , St James Hanover, and West Moreland. What should I see? Where should I stay? Suggestions with photos greatly appreciated.

I tend to stay at local owned nothing fancy type places. I love the country side.

I guess i just need another photo fix

as you cruise past Portland, i'd suggest you stay at Search Me Heart in Drapers. guesthouse...laid back. From there you can explore Porty and all the beaches in the area.

jd, how about a night or two at zion country? real local feel . . . just off the main road . . . beautiful surroundings . . .

or just drive around the whole country. that trip i did all the parishes in 08 all alone was aboslutely the best trip i've done . . . just wing it!!!

I did something like that as a day trip years ago (2000 I think)
We started in Ochie and drove through St. Mary to Portland. We stopped at Blue Lagoon, Boston beach, Bath. I remember town and Flat bridge vaguely. We came back through the mountains and Trelawny (skipped TB and West Moreland) But, it was just a day trip.

If i get to do it, I will likely wing it. But, I would like to have some ideas in mind, too.

I'm a likkle coward about driving. I will have a local driver. I prefer to have a drinking buddy too

I would like to check out Flagstaff in Trelawny. Not sure if I would spend more than the day there, though

jd, since you're travelling with alocal you should be able to just go and stop at a local place with no problem.

if we just drive through a place, we don't really get a feel for the area . . . each little place i've spent time in leaves me with fond memories . . . i've learned a lot about myself . . .

when i stopped to see mokko in sunning hill, i spent the whole day sitting by the little shop on the main street watching the world go by and interacting with pretty well the whole town . . . the food was incredibly cheap, the shop owner put on a 2nd pot of food . . . mokko's son says she never did that beforfe . . . real fun day

i stopped at this place with rex, incredibly rude people running it . . . she turned around and refused to serve the two of us, never came back . . . her face was screwed up like she was semlling sh-t . . .

people that know me will know i speak staight from the hip . . .
