Unless I get an intervention, I am well on my way to being a fat little old lady. I am fixated on food now, and precisely, Jamaican food.
I called Seveen whinning yesterday because I do not have access to it on a regular basis. It's the taste true enough, but I have another major issue with food here/verses food there.
To put it in a polite fashion, my bodlly functions work 1,000 percent better staring on my second day in Jamaica, and END when I get back here to Babylon.
Sometimes in Jamaica, things work remarkably well. I am convinced that it is the fresh ingredients, and whatever the combination is that makes this food different to the body. I am convinced that I could live a healthier life, and my colon would thank me.
As soon as I get back here, everything is different. I've talked to many of my friends, and ANgie and I are in total agreement about this.
Now there are NO Jamaican restaurants here in Memphis, but even if you have a good one TASTE wise here in the US, I bet you are still dealing with those aritifical ingredients we have to offer here (staring with the chicken fulla all kinds of horrible stuff)...
But I'm with Seveen on this one....when you get back from Jamaica ,stuff taste like CARDBOARD....
My former boss introduced me to these TYson chicken tenders they have at Sam's. Man I can remember being sooo excited at first, and as things go at Sams, you can't buy small quantities. I used to heat some up for snacks and have them with honey mustard sauce, and cook some and cut them up and put them on top of salads making my own chicken finger salad. Man this morning I threw a 2/3 full back in the trash. CAN'T stand the sight of them after coming from Jamaica.
Ok that is my morning whine...no solutions in sight for this one.
Oh and Miss Laurel....your trip report did NOT help at all

Miss M & Tictoc.....I definately agree about all of the FRESH veggies used in Jamaican cooking....very few canned or frozen veggies used PLUS eating nuff callaloo has got to keep your system running well.
Its all in who prepares it and good ingredients...TYVM
