Surprise!

Want to plan a surprise trip to JA for hubby's milestone birthday next year. We will have our preschooler with us. Suggestions - I like the convenience of an all inclusive BUT he is the 'like to be near the people and get the to know the real JA type'.

Suggestions please for

'Real Jamaica but I don't want to ruff it too much because we with pickney'

My budget is 'cheapskate' I mean moderate. THONKS

possible travel date might coincide with spring break so definitely FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR from the spring breakers and please don't take offense anyone not Ocho Rios!

If you really want to get away from the hustle, there is a boardie here who has a upstairs apartment in Duncans Bay (Trelawny) that is beautiful!

In Negril I usually stay at the Beach Club Condos

Moderate pricing with good deals on orbitz.com. I really enjoy having the kitchen to cook or make Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches when the kid is hungry mid day.


I have never stayed there, but I understand Treasure Beach has some very nice places to get away from the hustle try:

Definitely stay away from Negril & MoBay spring break time.

Try the south coast then ...

I did not know that Ochie got a lot of Spring Breakers. I figured that Negril and Ma bay got most of them.

I've never seen a spring break crowd in ochi

even last yr, I went during spring break and never even knew it was that time of year until I took a day trip to Negril I ran up out that town so fast.

maybe she jus doesn't liek Ochi period lol

Spring Breakers in JA was before my time so only guessing where dem frequent. My memories of Ochi was that it was a busy likkle touristy town. Memba 'Puerto Seco'? Beach, Turtle Towers and of course Dunns River Falls.

Have you considered Portland?

Nice beaches, the most lush vegetation on the island, mountains, good food and no spring breakers. Perfect place to have a second honeymoon.

sunset beach in mobay has a waterpark and kid's club on-site - it's all inclusive - there are some good rates on book-it

from there you can go to either ochi or negril for the day

negril beach is good for kids - take plenty of action figures to play with in the sand

spring break in jamaica is pretty modest these days . . .usually contained to two or three resorts
