Looking for a place for a month in November

I need a comfortable bed, a working air conditioner, and within easy walking distance to the sea, either cliff or beach. Pool would be a plus. I am shooting for $800 for the month, but can go as high as $1000. There is a small chance that my 18 yr old son who will be in college at the time might be able to join me for the week of Thanksgiving break, so two beds, or a rollout or cot for him for the week would be helpful. Any help is much appreciated. I have a few places in mind myself, except that no one has stayed there personally at any of the places I was considering, and that makes me a little leery of being the 'first' that would be writing a review.

oh and please pray for me..I'm in a real XXXXX mood because I was going to get major dental surgery done next month, but was in an accident, and had to get two teeth removed that had already been partially shattered, and stitches in my mouth where said teeth use to be..only plus side is it isn't my front teeth. I think it's a law in Oklahoma that you can't get too much past 40 yrs of age and have all your teeth...it's a finable offense (I keed!)

I'm not sure of prices but I have heard good things about Miss Mary's and Jah B's (I have not actually stayed either place). I'm thinking that Jah 's does not have AC though.

I have not stayed in Negril since the 90's. But if I was going to stay there I would look at tthose 2 places.

correct, no A/C at jah B's. although, it is a wonderful place, really nice vibes. and it can be quite cool that time of year - i've had to ask them for a blanket a few times in Oct/Nov, it was actually chilly at night. it's across roots bamboo, so it's a little upbeach from the busiest part of the beach; the cottages are plain board houses, with ceiling fans, finished bathrooms, also cable tv (if you want), kitchenettes, and/or can set u up with full kitchen as well. Also have an <span style="font-style: italic">excellent</span> restaurant on-property with one of The Best chefs around. to my mind it's the best vibes AND the best value on the beach for cottage-type accomodations.... extremely good rates, in the 40/night range. Miss Joyce is the one to contact at [email protected] - she is wonderful! and will make you a good deal for longer stays. you might also check Geenleaf Cabins; www.greenleafcabins.com -- they are a lil further upbeach, across Coco La Palm, down the lane directly behind Best of the West jerk chicken. they have several different types of accomodations - some hotel-type rooms, some very plain cabins (some with shared bath and/or kitchen, which are the least expensive rates), and some fully-equipped self-catering cabins with full private kitchen. They're are a bit more 'finished' and decorated than JahB's board houses. greenleaf's are not really cabins but are block houses; they also have cable TV, and some do have A/C. Not <span style="font-style: italic">'as'</span> low rates at JahB's but still very reasonable, it was 60/night for the full self-catering cabin, and lower rates for the other room types. Jennifer runs the office (or did last time i was there anyhow, last summer) and will take good care of you, and should be able to do you a good deal for a long stay. If you might have interest in a guest house, there's Lily-Mae; right next to Shamrock store. (kind of a busy-ish spot on the road but the house itself is really nice-) the upstairs rooms are very nice, bright &amp; sunny, with A/C, fridge, beautiful finished bathrooms and a huge tile balcony, with shared community kitchen available for guest use. Miss Pearl is/was the proprietor, she is purely delightful! i haven't stayed there in about 5 years though, so not 100% certain she is still running things there -
