Good job Seveen. Keep it up. BTW i have some photos on Photobucket right now that I could experiment with if you can give me the next instructions.

Been busy sewing and ordering fabric on ebay. Found some nice cowboy fabric. I am embroidering redwork panels with cowboy motifs and needed cowboy print for filler. Also bought some military fabric and then went to Amazon and bought Season 2 of the Closer. I just love Kyra Sedgwick. In real life she doesn't have the accent so it was weird to see her with a different twist on David Letterman.

I have a Vista and its been good to me o far
but like i said enlarging throws everything off
but its is easier to read although still too small for me.

Hey Roots, I think the ships are in Green Bay this weekend but they are on their way to Cleveland around the 23rd or so I think. Well worth going just to see the sight, there were 9 of them here! They all came in parade fashion. Amazing sight.

Hi Root'n ~ ... UGH ... it was BLAZZIN hott out today ... after the morning rain - the dewpoint went over the moon ....

the pool was SIMPLY DIVUNE!!!!! it was brisk and ever so kool ... spent a couple hours out there all alone most of the time.

came back in for a nap, then did some cooking tonight - the chicken is marinating till morning ... then a brownstew in the works ~

Marnin! Hey Laurel, I don't know that we'll ever see anything as Grand as this Tall Ship Festival again! The last time there was this many in port was in the 18'00's. Even just one ship at a time, I have only seen a handful of appearances. However, since this was the RECORD draw in Duluth EVER...I see them planning another one down the road! There was 100,000 people in canal park that day. I got there 2 hours early and staked a spot away from any people, (whew that was before I realized how many there's be!)...

When I first got there I staked a claim on the lighthouse platform. Soon throngs of people started to appear and it was very hot. I dashed for the rocks and found a high spot and established a perimiter. Yep, I stood there waving kids running rocks away and wouldn't let them near my rocks! I had to protect my equipment. Too bad the mothers of these kids didn't re-enforce what I was telling them, so I had to tell the same kids over and over..anyway, I kept people at bay and had myself a wonderful little spot complete with a cave.

The ship in the lighthouse pic is HMS Bounty, from the movies Pirate's of the Caribbean and Mutiny on the Bounty!

This is the famed figurehead. Pirates was on last Sunday and it was extra special to see the ship in the movie!



The female figurehead is called Bethia, after the name of the original sailing ship. Normally of a buxom shape, with few clothes, the figurehead of a ship was believed to bring luck. It was important for illiterate sailors to recognise their ship and each figurehead was unique.

Bethia is much more covered than most, with a full, modest dress, and even a hat. This is an authentic replica of the original Bounty figurehead, which Captain Bligh described in his journal as, “a handsome woman in a riding habit, well carved.”
