So we want to go on a day trip from Portmore to Ochi to go to Enchanted Gardens the taxi man quote us $6000 roundtrip that sound reasonable? Anyone been to EG? Any nice restaurants for lunch near by?

thats reasonable....and yes EG is worth every penny!! lots of little restaurants along the way, and remember to buy the driver lunch!!

I remember going to EG a few yrs ago and went to a chinese restaurant upstairs in a plaza ..really really good food .. dont remember name of restaurant or plaza .. but it wasnt a take out , it was a fail establishes restaurant . Pl there should know of it right away.Comment

Just an update to let you know say di taxi man back out at the last minute for the $6K tell we say him friends say that is the price one way!
so anyway we found someone else to take us for $8K, and we paid for them to go in with us and lunch too. We had lunch at the Ocho Rios Jerk Center. Enchanted Gardens was beautiful.

pardon my ignorance..but,I have only been to Ochie twice and only passed through both times(although I did stop at the Casino and dropped some cash the second time through)
..What/where is Enchanted Gardens?..I take it it's some kind of Mall?Comment

Hey j-can, no its not a mall it used to be hotel/garden property owned by one of the former prime ministers of Jamaica but it's just a botanical garden and aviary now. The property boasts 14 waterfalls, its beautiful. You get a guided tour when you go, here is the website.
