Re: Help
Checked with a family friend that used to have a farm in JA. He said back in the 80's sensay fowl was a scarce breed, like they were slowly dying out. He can't recall any pure-breeding of these fowls, his feeling is that more than likely they interbred and their species probably died off or are even more scarce than back when he was farming.7/5th of all people do not understand fractions.

Re: Help
Cousin Damion raises some sorts of 'specialty fowl' .... I will put the question out as well next time I talk later today.
And - when you are ready to add your goat to your yard ~ let me know; Big Man is having baby goats added to his little herd more and more these days. He had 7 adults and one baby during my Holiday Visit, and two of the lady goats were pregnant - so he is having nuff babies at various times.
good luck with your yard of animals ~

Re: Help
Laurel Thanks. I'm also encouraging some of my cousins and one of my brother in London to invest in the common fowls and goats. I told my cousins in London not to sell their share of land in Ja. to get help planting fruits and food crop. I have one family sold on the goat idea. Am awaiting his English pounds to combine with my U.S. dollars to get a couple goats. I told them yard is warm, when we get older, it is going to be harder dealing with the cold weather, heating bill etc, so they should start preparing now for retirement a yard.
Wow Laurel Mr. Big Man herd is increasing nicely. I did see some lovely roosters in your holiday pics. I need a good size ram goat and mother goat.

Re: Help
Good Morning CutePie ... I forgot to ask yesterday ....
but - he mentioned a Chicken Coop this morning - so that triggered me to remember to ask about the Sensay Fowl ... of course he knows of them & knows they are far and few between these days.
BUT - he knows of a Serious Specialty Fowl Man - he will check it out ~ he thinks if there are any available - this Guy will know.
and - seriously - when you are prepared to add your Yard Goats ... keep him in mind!!

sensei fowl . . .
Sensay Costume: A costume of West African origin worn at Carnival time in Dominica. It is made of frayed rope and other fibrous material such as pounded leaves of the agave, ‘langue beff’ (Furcraea tuberosa) that grows mainly on the west coast. The material is tied around the body in layers so that it cascades from the head to the feet. A mask is usually worn on the face and cow horns form the headpiece. Sensay costumes are also made of strips of paper, cloth, frayed plastic sacks and dry banana leaves ‘pai fig’. They are similar to costumes used in West African tribal ceremonies. The word comes from the Twi language, senseh, which is a type of fowl with curled or ruffled feathers. The costume is named after its resemblance to the fowl, which also has special spiritual properties among the Twi people.
