JaMiss, I've been thinking about you. I am sorry to hear about the mis-hap. I hope you get to feeling better soon.

It is not over for me yet! Had a third operation to remove an infection in my back and the surgeon had to remove the hardware he had put in my back because it was full of infection. I now have a wound vac on my back to remove more infection for around 6-8 weeks. I also have a PICC line to aid in giving me intravenious shots of antibiotics. Then they received the cultures back from my infection and found it to be even worse than they anticipated, so put on a pump to allow me to get 24 hours of antibiotics before changing the bag. I don't know how long this will be done. I will ask the infectious wound doctor on Wednesday. I have home health care and also a friend that comes to give me my medicine and bathe me. I cannot take baths or showers for 6-8 weeks as long as the wound vac is no place. They make some interesting products for bed baths including hair products. It isn't the same as a shower but close.

My surgeon did not put the wound vac in properly. Therefore, I suffered greatly when it was time to remove and renew it Friday. I have never felt such pain in my life. My daughters want me to sue him over this and a lot of other goof ups with my back surgery. Funny that my left leg does not hurt since he removed the hardware. I still think he had pinched the nerves gong down into my leg.

On a better note, the weather is turning nice finally. Azaleas and rhodies are in bloom, as well as the clematis.

Blessings, everyone! I have been lurking but have not had much to say because I can't seem to get to Jamaica this summer and it's calling me bad, bad. But I continue to move forward in faith. Soon come.

So sorry Goldilocks that you may not return this summer. I'm striving for September if everything heals.

Went to my infectious wound doctor Tues and he will see me again next Wed, when he may take me off the continuous antibiotic. Good news. Will still have wound vac.

The company that sends the antibiotic came out to my house with a piece of paper for me to sign. It had 3 different options for billing Medicare. It stated that Medicare will not pay for in home ampicillen injections. And it's also questionable that my secondary (Tricare) would pick up payment. If not I will be out $100 a day, yes a day, for the antibiotic. YUCK! I don't understand that since my friend or daughter change it daily without help from the home nurses. My daughter said I should just go back into the hospital at several thousand dollars a day where they would give me the med for sure. Don't understand Medicare rules.

I want to thank all my Ja friends. You truly help me to put up with all my health problems. This time I have been in a state of depression and when I come on here and Facebook and see your wonderful upbeat words and what you are doing, it does me good. And in the last few days I have been in a much better mood. I also think if you are upbeat, you will heal faster. Good news this morning when the home health nurse came to change the wound vac. He said he knows it is shrinking. I also felt it was but of course I can't see it like he can. Hip Hip Hooray! So thanks again Ladies for all your caring.

Ja Miss, I had no idea you were in distress. I never could have told from your pleassnt demeanor.

Sometimes all a person can say is hang on in there. I know it's hard and I know it hurts but it is healing.

Hey Rootsie, wish I were close to you. I would buy veggies from your garden. I have been buying the pre packaged trays of veggies with ranch dip. Love to snack on them. Since it is difficult for me to get around, I just order them, and my friend who shops for me picks it up.

Slight mishap on Sunday. I developed a leak of the antibiotic that softened the adhesive bandage over the picc line and eventually pulled out the entire picc line. A home nurse came out and helped remove all the dressing and apply a new one to close up the small hole where the line had been. Called the doc and he changed me to oral antibiotic for 5 days. Then in the middle of the night after I had got up to go to the bathroom, I was getting back in bed when my wound vac line caught on something and pulled out. I shut it off, covered it with gauze and tape and went back to bed. In the morning, the home health nurse renewed all the dressing for it and started up the wound vac again. This is my excitement for last few days. LOL.
