Just went and subscribed to the newspaper & read all I could.

Nanook, do you know who to contact regarding the homeless horses? I'm gonna check with my horse friend here and see if she's interested in another one. They already have 2. I would love to have one but I'm in the city and don't have the space. My friend has a wonderful barn and lots of land.

I feel better after seeing Windchill than I did before. I was afraid I would sit there and bawl in front of Windchill but it didn't happen. he is getting attention that he has never had and eating it up.

He has to make it.

I gave my donation to Dans. Dan is a super duper guy and it was easy for me as I was going by there anyway.

Kathi wasn't there when I first got there because she was at work. When she got home and came out to the barn she told the story about the bank..it is pretty funny.

She walked into the bank and said..."i want to open a bank account for my horse". You can imagine how that went but then after they asked her what is your horses name...she said "WINDCHILL". He is famous now, they knew all about him!

Schultz I can look into this homeless horse thing some more and see what I can find out. It was my first inkling of what I need to do when I was sitting here one night a couple of weeks ago and the news was on and they told the story of destroying 70 perfectly good horses in Mn just because they became homeless due to the housing crisis! And pretty much why this went on in my back yard all this time and me not hearing about it is because I don't see much news it is so depressing sometimes!

Yeppers he needs prayers that his legs are OK. He is awesome and cute and sweet and actually just like a big ole dog layin there loving his scratches.

I want to go visit him again but I am going to wait to see if he makes it first. By the end of next week he will need me to bring more carrots for him and his friends!

Seems like his ordeal has brought the horses and other pets into the light as far as being abandoned and just give up on.

Lulabell, hope your head if feeling better this morning!

I just went to their website and read the update at 12:42 this morning. Boy, I tell you its truly a labor of love to care for this little guy. All the effort going into his care is truly amazing. There has to be a special place in heaven for these caregivers and for the people who donated to his care.

Windchill knows the lick as he puts forth every ounce of effort he's got when they go to winch him up. That sounds like a positive sign to me. Thank God is not as cold as last week. Ya'll keep on with the prayers. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70459-hugs.gif[/img]

I see that Deb Sprague the artist who is doing the online auction for the painting she did for Windchill now has a raffle going on her site too! She did an awesome painting of Windchill and Walker, his horse.
