If you only had 15 minutes

If you only had 15 minutes to tell a room full of people about Jamaica. What would you tell them and what photos would you use to illustrate your points?

I recently went for my final job interview with a company where they asked me to give a 15 minute presentation. I used a presentation I prepared and used at my last job. However, it did get me thinking... had I done one about Jamaica what would I have wanted everyone to know and how would I show them?

Hey Boundie, lang time! How is Florida???

My presentation would probably not have any beach photos unless they were of a stroll along the beach in Alligator Pond or Little Bay or a place like that. There would be photos of caves and mountains and beautiful countryside and not many of people if any, and definitely not one of a plate of food. Food growing in a tree yes, but no plates allowed. There would be flowers and Doctor Birds and backroads and none would be of a city.

Pics would be of red dirt roads, the view from my friend's yaad. (not a water view), Pedro Bluff and Great Bay beach from under the Lignum Vitae tree, my friend's kids, my friend's wedding and subsequent party, goats and cows, the produce van and yes I'd throw in some sunsets. It would be a shame to waste all those sunset pics.

What would I tell them about? The people, the simplicity of living. Outdoor showers. Outdoor kitchens. Conch soup & Bumpies & stew pork. The smell of orange blossoms by the clothes line. Walking out a road a nighttime... *sigh* can I fit all that in 15 minutes? I don't know but it's making me homesick. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crybaby.gif[/img]

I would talk about how much healthier Jamaica can be for a person. About the excellent varieties of fruits and vegetables, the ease in making a meal from very little protein, the weather which usually allows one to be outdoors enjoying the sunshine. Also tell about the resilient people that live there and can live on very little money.
