Thanks Miss Colleta!! we visited her every morning ~

we reach up round Auntie Peggy ... she has some special mango in the fridge cooling for my arrival !

YUMMO ... my belly full ~

I did not haffi share them with anybody else ~

we soon had to reach the church up the hill for the little school graduation ~

lots of posing and photo ops ... but - I know I have to keep those to myself ~

they had a dance troupe as part of the ceremony ~

beautiful shot of cousin Marion ... too bad it is fuzzy

was a VERY long and drawn out little service / ceremony ... but what a special thing to get to participate in as well.

to back myself up just a bit ...

I had arrived on Saturday, we reached our yard and sorted out the load to be carried up the country for the little school's graduation gifts.

Bim carried them up while I rested.

He arrived home and the phone rang ... Lord Jesus ... seems EVERY TIME I arrive these days, there is another death or murder of some sort. Last October, in December, near my March visit, and again that very evening.

He carried the things up to Dias .... stopped for a chat at a shop and left that shop at such time .... not even 10 minutes passed that he left and some gun-men drop in and unload their bullets into the lady shop-keepers head.

Lord Jesus .... what a thing!!

of course - nuff back story ....

so sad ....

we had the Toots version blasting, the Fab 5 version blasting ~ and so many times when we were pon the road, we hailed up our friend Dandy doing so many of his Montego Bay runs!!

is Monday morning ... send off Girlie to school, he has a couple errands to run, so we drop into Colletta - fill our belly's, take me up to Harding Hall cuz there are no guests at the moment, he wants me to see his work in progress.

simply divune ~ nuff little farming he has going on. I have on my suit and enjoy the property and pool while he takes a TV back to a repair shop, hunts up some mango, yada yada

I float and soak up the sun ... lucky lucky me!!

We brought me some Smirnoff Ice's to chill in the fridge, and he left me with the pile of sumthin sumthin if wanted to eat again ...

I bake in the sun and float in the pool ... round and round ~
till the rain comes in.

I am loving this place so very much ... enjoying the quiet and peace and beauty ... NOT wanting my time there to finish ... and he comes round.

We wait out the big rain and thunder ... Cassandra has a couple boxes of mango's that need to be carried over to Catch-A to Andrea .. so - off we go ~

I order up a fancy cocktail from Kevin ~

we finish up the day helping Kim prepare and practice her reading for her graduation ...

Tuesday, he keeps her out of school to take her up to the country - Uncle U-U's yard across from Auntie Peggy for the girls to give her a hairstyle. They take me to BarBBarn so I can have the water and beach instead of the heat and rain up a bush.

we have sorted out the choice of jewelry for her to wear for her special day.

I welcome the chance for the beach ... you know how I love the sea side.

they take hours and hours to work on her hair ... and the result is spectacular!!!

we have been hopeful and preparing for her graduation for a long long time.

shopping for a special dress, shoes, hose, yada yada

picking her jewelry from my bits

keeping her on the right track with regard to studies, yada yada

he has surrounded her with good women friends to help shape her and help grow her into a young lady. I do what I can to help influence her when I am around ~ she has been my BabyGirl for many years ~

we find out the night before graduation her birth mother will be at our yard at 9:00am to help her get ready - time for me to step aside.

her mother wants to bring hair braids / extensions / eye make-up, lip gloss, nail polishes ~ wants to fancy her up

her father has done the growing of this girl on his own since she was 18 months old ... he is steadfast in his opinions of make-up on young girls ... and it will not be happening on a child living under his roof - no exceptions

she and I are practicing her reading - she re-tries her jewelry set, looks in the mirror and states "I am so pretty" - and I will be even more pretty with eye makeup and lip gloss - even tho Daddy will not allow me to have hair extensions ...

I asked her if her father had changed his mind about make-up and allowed her to buy lip-gloss?? she tells me no - her mother plans to bring it in the morning and she is going to wear it regardless of what her father says ..... she WILL apply it and it will be too late for him to do anything - so what can he do about it??

she goes off to bed, he and I are having a quiet chat. I re-assure him I am OK with her mother coming round to help her prepare ... I gently ask him how old Kim must be before she is allowed to wear make-up? he says 17 years old ... the same age he has always told her ... no exceptions.

I excuse myself and call her from her house to have a chat.

I let her know she has to realize that her father has sacrificed ALOT for her to get her education and to raise her in comfort and ease - for her to have an easy & happy little childhood ~ her graduation is a special day for her, BUT - it is also a special day for her father.

She KNOWS what will happen if he sees her with a face full of makeup ... she had BETTER think twice before she decides to disobey him ... her graduation day does not need to call for her to get a nasty spanking ... and that IS what she will get when he sees her mothers preparation.

so - she does not respond .... goes off to bed ... and will not speak to me the next morning at breakfast.

I understand once I was gone to the beach so I would not be around with her mother there, she went off to YardMate Jacynth to ask her advice .... to beg her to talk to Daddy for him not to beat her when she and her mother do the fancy girl prep they have planned.

Jacynth told her under NO CIRCUMSTANCES will her father allow for this plan ... she tells Kim she had better not go down that path .... she had best obey her father and mind her next mother (that would be me).

so - graduation prep is complete, Daddy carries her and her mother to the school, comes to the beach to get me - we rush to ready and get to the school just in time for photos ....

BabyGirl has a bright and happy face for her mother's camera .... and for mine - I get a sourpuss face ~

for the life of me - I could not coax her to smile and look pleasant ...

Girlie could only have pleasant smiles with the novelty factor of having her mother there ~
