ok so a few months ago mi ask mi likke 9 year old little princess what she wanna do for the summer. Mi had written off Jamaica fi a family trip dis year, cause wi been doing this each year since, and mi wallet need to recouperate.
Mi was hoping she said Disney (again) or some kinda waterworld inna Niagara falls, but instead she said "Jamaica"..
Mi did a hope di wife would help to pursuade her fi suggest somewhere else, but she being the party girl from days back, had fi har pulse pun di party scene and had her mind set on coming to Jamaica during the Independence celebrations..
Any how seeing seh mi out numbered, mi tell dem if dem can find the ticket fi no more than a certain price each, we good to go (a whole a 7 a wi a travel, suh it add up fass)
Anyhow di other half put more effort into price shoping than mi ever seen she did before.
Everyday mi a get calls from her a tell mi hoe "close" she getting the prices to mi limit, and if mi can bum the limit up a bit.
No dice.
Anyhow, one day mi feel mi VISA card a tingle and smoke a come outta mi wallet, shortly after mi get a call.. Tickets found and bought. The summa vacation is Jamaica bound
Fast forward to Friday.
Agreement wid mi boss is, mi would be working to cover the late west coast and early asia/pacific rim on friday.. Dis means mi need to VPN into the office as early as 6PM but no later than 8PM EST...Only catch.. a friday mi suppose to be flying to Jamaica.
So mi tell him mi will "pull something outta mi cap"
Plan in my head NO DELAYS - Get to Jamaica on time to get to a Internet hotspot, maybe swing by one a mi old jobs in Kingston and ask fi connect to them internet so mi can loging to work.
Mi made sure pack TWO laptops, just in case of Murphy's Law
Ok suh first the taxi whey fi carry wi guh toronto airport nuh show up on time. Mi call the company bout 2 mins pass the pickup time.. the lady a tell mi the cab is on its way.
<Mi tell her, mi not intrested in "on its way" the cab should have been here at least 10 minutes ago.
Anyhow she try raise him pon di radio.. Hi lost.
Mi had to direct him (thru she) to wi.
Mi decided "no tip for him"
Anyhow.. him come, apologetic and cool.. so mi think.. "well maybe a smalls.."
Anyhow.
So fortunately wi had sent two from the party ahead, cause wi get call seh di Air Jamaica check in awfully packed, and there is left overs from YESTERDAY which was terrible and people had to be turned away (SUMFEST WEEKEND)
Suh wi reach and dem was at the front a di line
Anyhow.. Plane 20 mins late.. Shoot this a one Murphy's Law mi cant compensate for..
