His name is Dennis Ranston, and the book is called Ferdie the Fisherman In Negril

I will be doing a book review as soon as I am done with re-living my vacation

Him and his wife were lovely people, and he signed the book for me to bring home and read to Imanni...

I look forward to reviewing the book, and it was a pleasure to have met Dennis and his wife.

Ok I have something to say, but I don't know what.

If I could go back to my very first trip to Jamaica with my dumb green just got out of Memphis behind, I could possibly let you know how this all effected me.

I was OVERWHELMED with the lyrics and the attention....

Now that I look back on it, I have to say that it was not really WHAT they were saying, but that they said SOMETHING.

You see here in my world, we have really stopped speaking to each other...suspicion, self preservation, self-righteous???? Don't know what it is, but unless you are in a Mall (and most of them are shutting down here), at church, work, or some special event, people are not gathered and walking around, and exposed to each other like they are in Jamaica.

There are few settings where a lady would be out and about and feel safe enough to talk to folks much.

So imagine that you are INVISIBLE, and then suddenly you become VISIBLE. You are overwhelmed.

I know I know they don't mean a word it. I know I know they will be saying the same thing to someone else in 5 minutes.

But I swear you don't hear it here, just like you can't get fresh calalloo or any of the other stuff you eat in Jamaica.

I've learned to acknowledge it, appreciate it, and walk on, but I swear I take it home in my heart until the next time.

I don't care what anyone else says....I LOVE IT.

I'm w/ you M - I am getting Ja fever and not sure if I can wait until July for my next trip.

The pics of the lil man are so sweet. Watching Daddy and soaking up the knowledge.
