Beautiful... when I was in Portland it rained every day, but had the courtesy to go away come mid-morning so you could enjoy the green that the rain had made.

I want Auntie's house.

Ja.Jewel, we were in Portie in Dec. and that road is pretty good all the way until just before reaching Portie and then the bad part continues all the way the other side. But we made great time from MoBay to Portie, about 4-5 hours with a stop between.

Absolutely love Portland!

Continuing... (sorry, all kinda things a crop up here and distracting me)

I spent a week with my aunt in Shrewsbury. During that week I caught up with my new running friend, a 67 y.o. Jamaican woman who had also done the Reggae marathon. She too is from the same area and we went on daily morning runs together. One one of our mornings running out and back, we did 3 miles up a hill.... the scenery was just stunning.
My run ins with the police did not stop. Christmas Eve my cousin and I went into Port Antonio for shopping. On the way out, traffic was so congested, I thought I was on a one-way street, I decided to use my Steve McQueen driving maneuvers. The cop car I pulled right in front of did not like what I did so lights, horns and sirens were blaring at me to pull over. LOL! Dressed in military fatigue and carrying an AK47, he came over to my car and said "A wha kinna whats-it-not driving dat!" He was [censored]. I had to explain in my meekest voice that I thought I was on a one way street and in all the traffic noise and congestion he gave me a stern warning to drive carefully and fi nuh do dat again. My cousin nearly killed herself with laughing. Lawd gad Sandi, yu nuh easy at all! Yu lucky him neva give yu one ticket!

The week and my visit with my aunt was coming to an end. My friend in St. Louis was landing in Mo Bay on Boxing Day and I had to be at the airport to pick him up. Good thing I had a digicel phone with international call time on it and his flight leaving St. Louis was on schedule. Last day in Shrewsbury, but not last day in Portland... my aunt's husband and I walked a mile into the hills for some picture taking. I had to hurry because I'm to be in Mo Bay by 3:30 for airport pickup.

This is the road into Twickenham... way up in the hills where my Uncle Melvin lives.

The goat a pose off for me...

This is where I hope to build my Jamaica dream home.... I still could not get over the view they have.

This was one of my running routes. The whole time my aunt's husband and I walked up the road, everyone greeted him. This is what I love about life in Jamaica... everyone knows everyone. You can't lost and smaddy nuh know who yu be, unless you are a stranger to the area.

bwoy, dem pictures remind mi of Stony Hill, Golden Spring, Wag Water area...said way u find some views like dat bout di place...memories of going dung some a dem fi go riva go bade as pickney..dem days u could do dem tings wid no fraid of being setupon by anybody....lovelllllly pictures indeed...u a gi Bandie a run fi har money

I left Shrewsbury little past noon. It took me 3 1/2 hours to get into Mo Bay to the airport with only one stop for gas. His flight came in 45 minutes late and I was starting to get worried when I did not see him but he finally came through the arrivals. His first time to Jamaica and first time travelling outside the US. I could tell he could not contain his excitement and we were looking forward to the week ahead. I had it all planned out ... 3 days in Portland in San San area, then head to Negril. This is now the start of part 2 of my trip where the flavour of the day was lots of fun and some unexpected frustrations.
