Jamaica ~ The Return

First off, I am back and I am not happy about it.
Although I am grateful that the itching has stopped!!

12 days after a 3 1/2 year absence is just NOT long enough. But anyway, let me get started.

As you know, the weather here was icky when I was getting ready to leave.





I was so happy when my sis picked me up at 3 am and the temp was 15 degrees and she shows up in her friend's new Maxima with the heated leather seats.

The airport was busy for that hour but all went smooth.
I had 4 hours in Miami which was good because it was a hell of a walk from terminal D to Terminal E. At least they keep it interesting.
I took these next pics for our resident Flower Child. I think you will all know who I mean.









Once we boarded, my seat back wwould not lock in the upright position, so they moved me to the back row all by myself. Nice to spread out for the longer leg of the trip.



Miami is a funny looking place from the air. Like a puzzle.

Being the last off the plane was nice. An older gentleman & myself sat & relaxed while everyone jockeyed for position to exit. Then the never-ending journey through the new terminal in Jamaica to get thru immigration & customs. The lines were moving along fine, luggage arrived intact. Of course customs wanted to know what they would find for my friends if they searched my bags. I went thru my mental list and happened to mention a sheet. I did bring along my own fitted sheet. See har dehso: Did you say SHEETS?
I said: Yes, I said SHEET - 1 sheet. I went into the details of WHY I brought the ONE fitted sheet and she waved me thru. TMI works every time!! WL:

Anyway, out into the hot, breezy Jamaica afternoon...



My big friend was waiting and we were off to change money, KFC & the long drive down to HOME!!
The drive was uneventful as it was getting late into the day and it was just he & I. No mobile party this trip.

My first JA sunset... somewhere in Westmoreland.



We dropped off my luggage and headed to the likkle bar around the corner. At this time I had started drinking Appleton and the bar had no coconut rum OR Smirnoff Ice... this would need to be remedied of course.





Everything fell back into place as if I never left. Drinking with old friends, a drive up the hill...
Finally - sleep. I have arrived and all is right with my world.

My digs for the duration... and yes it looked this bad for the entire trip. This is my friend's sons bedroom. Newly added since last time. He was more than happy to give it up because even at 12 yrs old im still love fi sleep wid im mommy & daddy.



The kitchen was added on as well.





My wheels... Love the looks on the young guys faces when they turn to check out the van and see the ol white ooman a jrive ie... mi ear dem seh "A WHA DI???"

Laurel, mi van get sold the day before I left. Bought a Subaru Impreza Wagon di wife can mannij. Di van was a stick, di wagon is automatic wid a right han jrive.
