Hello,

I was in Jamaica for 14 days and not long enough I loooved every minute

I miss the beautiful people, country and yummy food I have decided I need to go at least once a year!!

I don't know how to post pics so I have a link below. Pics in Kingston, Gordon Town, Portmore, Hellshire Beach and Claredon.

To post pics here you need to upload to a photo-hosting site such as photobucket.com. There are other's but I can't think of the names... Ovi?

Once you have them to a compatible site, you copy the image location and paste it between [img] & [/img]

Really easy once you try it.

Q.K. Your right I should have a trip report so here goes.....

Well, let’s say the trip didn’t go as planned but I still had an amazing time My husband and I were planning the trip to JA to visit his Dad and travel a little around the island but hadn’t booked yet, we got the news that his father passed away so we quickly booked a flight out.

I must say even during the circumstances I had a great time We arrived greeted by my 2 brotha in-laws and there friends what a nice greeting I thought, an entourage lol We arrived a few days before the nine night and were able to help out The house was packed up with over 100 people wow! And then we did it all over again in 10 days. I was truly amazed how wonderful and helpful the neighbourhood friends were and of course the family came all together to help out. This might sound cheesy but it was a beautiful thing to see I honestly met some genuinely superb family and friends.

I stayed in Portmore very hot I forgot how hot it was lol I looked forward to the cool showers and got used to sweating in 2 min after my shower lol The one thing I don’t miss are the mosquito’s they loved me! I went home still thinking I had to swat away the mosquito’s lol

The house was like a hotel everyone coming in and out I loved it! It kind of felt like my parent’s home everyone comes through and everyone from out of town stays over

I got to meet family I hadn’t met before and got to know my brotha in-laws better J Everyone was so kind and friendly and I met so many people. I miss all the home cooking I was so lucky to eat so well! My favourite is Ackee and saltfish Of course you can’t be in JA without having some tasty patties plenty of those I had. I had a patty and a coco bread one time and it sat so heavy in my belly lol I was warned but I still went ahead to eat if of course but all worth it lol

I watched to learn how to make my favourite drink Rum punch Let’s just say I had a lot of that, so delicious!! If I could only master the cooking it would be great maybe one day Practice makes perfect right? lol I can still taste those delicious fried dumpling so yummy in my tummy!

Some of the family is from Gordon Town so we went to visit my next brotha in-law he still looks the same from the last time I saw him never ages, damn those are some great genes he has He’s one cool guy!

It is absolutely beautiful in the hills and much cooler especially at night. I stayed here the last time I came to JA.

My husband decided to drive it’s been a while since he was a kid lol At least we know for next time he’s cool with driving of course and when we head down again we will rent a car so I can see more of the island

We managed to make it to Hellshire beach I couldn’t believe how close of a drive it was and I was so excited!! It was beautiful and the water just the perfect temperature! I spent hours at a time like a fish in the water lol Who got all burnt up from floating too long, my feet, knees, chest and face I looked ridiculous lol Two days of applying Aloe Vera all day worked, something special in Aloe from Jamaica lol I had some lunch, fresh fish and festival so delicious! As I’m sure you can tell I have no problem eating lol

Oh mangos I love them it was like heaven in JA as eating mangos everyday, it was the best thing ever for me, like heaven. I looked like a big kid with mango all over my face and mango juice dripping on my shirt lol I was enjoying it so much I forgot and got my shirt full of juices they are so sweet, so delicious! I brought some back with me and some other fruit. I ate them in a few days; I could never have enough mangos lol

Well I got to work off some of the food as we went to Claredon to pick some fruit and vegetables for the nine night, a friend of the family lives there he was a very nice guy J They had me try everything, I ate apples, coco, cucumbers etc they had me try everything I loved it!! His family was kind and offered me my favourite dish ackee and saltfish wasn’t I so lucky A beautiful place!!

We spent time just hanging out playing Ludi and Dominoes a lot of fun, some serious players lol Hey I even won a game or two J We didn’t get to do as much, because of there circumstances there was a lot to do and we wanted to help out in any way we could. But there will be a next time!

I think after 14 days I was starting to adjust it was hard to come back to the hustle and bustle life I still miss it very much and look forward to going back We have decided as a family to make it an annual thing and get together once a year in JA of course Hey I have no problem with that and look forward to it!!
