Well Peeps, all I can say is that this one was a long time coming and well deserved. Mel and I have pretty much decided that this was the best one yet. We are back home now, refreshed and energized, yet suffering from "Post_Jamaica_Syndrome" and wanting to head back as soon as possible.
THE TRIP:
We were scheduled to fly out on Friday July 3rd from St. Louis at 240 PM. We headed up a day early, took the kids to the Zoo and to the Arch. I had never been to either one so this was a first for me and I enjoyed every bit of it.
We flew down on USA 3000 Airlines direct from St. Louis to MoBay. We had about 150 people on board; landed in MoBay at 615 PM. Thankfully, there were no other flights coming in so Immigration and Customs were a breeze. We were outside waiting on the rental car before 7 PM.
As usual, Dhana Car Rental showed up promptly and handed me the keys and were on our way. Of course, by the time we were leaving MoBay, it was getting dark really fast and Mel was worried about the drive. I reassured her that we would be OK and headed towards Negril. Construction had ceased as soon as it got dark and except for a few rough areas in MoBay, Green Island and the hustle and bustle of downtown Lucea....the drive was great........except for one thing!!
No sooner than we had reached the city limits of Negril.....Mel yelled " Wow, you almost hit the biggest scorpion I have ever seen."
I kinda looked at her and laughed and said " you could see a scorpion on the road at 830 PM in the dark here?"
She said "yes I did see one and it was huge!"
No sooner than she said that, I saw another one of her "scorpions" crossing the road;...........it was your typical Jamaican land crab and they were crossing by the dozens and I was playing "crab dodging" with them.
I was laughing so hard I could hardly keep my composure. (I made a point of telling everyone we met about Mel's scorpion friend).
Anyway, got to Legends at 845 PM...Mamma Yvonne was aware that we were coming and kept the kitchen going for us. it was Grill Night, so on the menu, Jerk Pork, Jerk Chicken, Fish, rice and peas and of course the bar was still open, so I swallowed down a few rum and cokes to calm the nerves.
We normally stay on the garden side of the resort but this time we stayed ont he beach side, 2 rooms right above the bar/restaurant. We hit the sack by 1030 PM, anticipating the sunrise and the beach in the morning.
PICS OF THE BEACH AND LEGENDS:

I was up at 6 AM everyday and downstairs in the restaurant drinking coffe and getting pics; watching the news and socializing. By the time the rest of the family woke up and came downstairs, I had already polished off breakfast and was ready for the day.
