the kitchen at Wild Grape seemed like an afterthought.....like they built the villa and remembered at the end that they needed a kitchen...no stove, just a 2 burner hotplate....and the only microwave we saw....
if you like to cook for yourself, Sea Grape has the nicest kitchen......if you don't care to cook, Wild Grape is the place....better bedrooms, more space.....
I would gladly stay at either of the cliffside villas again
{{Dave & Pooh}} ... I love the proper visual tour - both inside and outside this property ~
what a wonderful place!!!
I really love that wide open door effect you noted ... that would be perfect for my up top living space. He wants to do a mix of both concrete and wood for a cooler space -
I have always been much drawn to the "open air" living space in some of the luxury tropical homes - that idea might get me close
as usual ~ your reporting ROCKS!!! can't wait for more!!

Hey Laurel! I use to love your trip reports and had almost forgotten you were building as well! How far along are you now and when are your plans to spend more time in JA?
that big bed in the living room that we slept on used to be a waterbed, but a hurricane mashed it up....the Wild Grape still has it's waterbed, though...it's just inside the "garage door"....

I like the open air thing also...but I gotta wonder, how long does it take to lock up the place at night?

That was my thinking as I was peering through the photos as well. Nice places though!

I am going to ask on the off chance you might know the answer - do you know who painted the picture above the bed? Is that a local artist per chance?
I love the painting. The contrast and starkness of colors is fantastic. </div></div>
let me email the owner...she'll know.... </div></div>
yeah that looks like actual art on the wall. some of the stuff people buy on the beach usually has me scratching my head, but that looks like an eye at work...
never did see the inside of that joint, it looks like a pretty cool spot.
