Just a quicky to let you know that for all practical purposes Negril is closed. I have never seen the beaches so empty! the hotels are so vacant that they are not even stocking basics. My wife wanted a dirty banana (kind of drink) and we were told that there wasn't any demand for bananas so the hotel was not stocking any fresh fruit! NONE!! IN JAMAICA!! Resterunt menus are very limited. The only desert available is ice cream as they can keep it frozen for months if need be. If your considering coming down now..you might want to wait a bit...Also, since there are so few tourists the peddlars on the beach are much more aggressive than I have seen them in the past. Be careful on the beach at night..

i've been down in negril during september, october, november and found negril to be pretty well deserted compared to early december to end of may . . . unless you are in the "loop" and want the boardie interaction, the rest is slim pickings . . . best to come with your own company . . .
