Of course you do...silly question,right? Folks this woman did an incredible job driving through deep waters that overflowed onto the roadway.
Besides missing Jamaica till it hurts, we are doing fine.
This guy…LOL…this guy fell in L*O*V*E with Meeyah . He wooed her hard with is melodic (Italian or Libyan) accent. She thought they were from Italy, I thought I heard Libya. We both could be right. But anyway…I believe he wanted to wine and dine her later that night. Alas Meeyah has thing about faithfulness and fidelity and devotion and blah blah blah so she turned him down.
They were a very lively, intelligent young group. Their stay in Jamaica would extend 2 weeks after we leave. I was so jealous.
The sight of the approaching shore caused me to be somber for the remainder of the sail. I wasn’t ready to be on land.
Hey <span style="font-weight: bold">Sammy!</span> Girl, you know me, I've got a ton from that visit, but only only two more relating to that afternoon. They are coming up next...along with the conclusion.
I rarely go in, retire to my room, before sunset. Doesn’t matter if it’s a clear sky and I get to see the amber sphere slowly drop down beyond the waters come dusk or….the overtaking of it by the clouds. I need to be out there at the start of the ending of another day in Jamaica. Something about that hour brings a feeling of total peace to my soul that enables me to “re-connect” whatever time and/or personal tribulations have dis-connected from me.
It’s time to re-connect….
I’ve been spending a lot of time with my parents. More than ever I’m almost ashamed to admit. Dad is not well and mom still works so hard, but does a great job, taking care of them both. I realized over the past few months that my parents never really understood my fascination with Jamaica because I never sat down and talk about my visits in detail with them. For the first time since I’ve been visiting the island, I decided to share some photos and facts.
Mom…Vi, the water is beautiful.
Dad…it sure it.
Mom….What’s that? A chicken foot?
Me…yes mom. Chicken foot soup.
Dad…they cook chicken foot soup in the Bahamas?? We used to eat it all the time back home. Your grandmother used to make a big old pot of chicken foot stew.
Me….Jamaica….Jamaica Dad. And yes they do and it is so good.
Mom…It doesn’t look good. Now that piece of corn, that doesn’t look good either. Looks hard.
Dad…Your grandmother didn’t put corn her the chicken foot stew. She used potatoes. Who is that?
Me…Who is who dad?
Dad…that woman in there?
Me….Dad, that’s me.
Mom…Let me see, Vi.
Dad…that’s a pretty picture of you, Bonnie. You really look like your mother in that picture. I didn’t recognize you at first. It might be the new glasses. I’m still getting used to them…(chuckle from dad inserted here).
Me…thanks Dad. I guess Jamaica does that to me. Brings out my pretty side.
Mom…Vi, that top you have on is too tight. It hugs your mid section too tight. What size is that? You should have gotten a larger size.
LOL…..I so regret not having more moments like this to remember.
Thanks all for tagging along. I managed to shake the “I miss yard” blues by publicizing the Booby Cay experience, recalling the memories and pressing “BUY NOW” a couple of days ago. February soon come!
Vi, you sure do have a way of capturing the special moments! I will never forget our likkle road trip and dat big [censored] Red Stripe truck coming past us and giving us a nasty road wata bath....oh my! That made me a fan on those knit/spandex dresses....I was dry again in no time. The other day Rue 21 had a big sale and I bought about 6 of dem! lol. Hug up cuz fi mi! love & hugs.
Hey Honey... I "know" you have lots more to share from that trip....You take such good pictures and writes so well. The ride to Booby Cay was beautiful and the little guy in the picture, ha could have been a prospect (hehehe).. Not - too young for me. They were a lot of fun and were enjoying JA though.
