Folks, Ms. Schultz was slowly driving the three of us through knee deep wata that covered a small stretch of road. A very impatient driver behind the wheel of a huge red stripe truck couldn’t wait for us to pass through water so he guns it to get by us on the right side. Poor Schultz was sprayed with water from the spinning tires ripping through the mini flood. I got some of it and Meeyah was sprinkled just a little. We gave him a good cussin than laughed about it later. We wouldn’t let that ruin our afternoon as we were on our way to visit <span style="font-weight: bold">WandaBe</span> !!! Great day that was!!!!

yep, fraid so <span style="font-weight: bold">SistaCtry</span>. I was missing Jamaica more than I could handle. I had guzzled the last of the Appleton I bought home so that made looking at the pictures sober very difficult. So I decided to share/relive that one afternoon in hopes it would lift me out of this funk. It helped and at the same time, I realized I kinda like posting a highlight or two from my visits opposed to the day-by-day recounts.. So I guess the days (and months…LOL) of epic trip reports by Vi are over.

I’m working on one or two highlights from that visit, but you have to see it before I post. Don’t want you calling me in the middle of the night threatening to sue me for libel. In the meantime I can post our lighthouse visit. Most folks have been there and done that, but the photos are nice/decent and I'm bored to tears and need to do something to hurry this Friday along .

We decided to call Jolly, my not-so-jolly, rolly-poly driver friend. Lawd, he would shoot me if he knew I said that but sometimes the man is just no fun!!! Well anyway, we told him we just wanted to ride around for a couple of hours. Not far as we had plans for the evening and needed to be back at a certain time. So he pulls up, we jump in his ride and take off headed towards nowhere special in Negril.

A side plug...We didn’t stop here. I had him to slow down to let me take a picture of the sign so I would remember to stop at this place the next day. They serve fantastic soup(s). I didn’t get back but I hope to next visit.

We first stopped at the Love Boat bar and restaurant for a couple of red stripes. It’s located close to the west end, not far from the Boat Bar. It was so quiet there. Too quiet, but was told that’s how it normally is that time of the day. Was also told they come alive at night. We chatted then I got restless and do what I do when I get restless…throw back the stripe, snap pictures and meet people. Some shots of the LB and scenery.











Didn’t realize I have no pics of the front of the place. Dang, I be slippin sometime.

We settle in the ride to creep along…slowing…briefly stopping here and there for no particular reason other than to “be there”. Meeyah and Jolly are talkers. I am also, but not when I get into my moments when all I want to do is be an invisible passenger or leisurely stroll around like an 80 year old and reflect on days gone by. That’s what I did often during that drive and stop through Negril.

Side note and confession…I used to tell folks, first time visitors, that there are some attractions in Jamaica that you only need to experience once. I would give them a list of about 6 or 7 “tourist” spots that I’ve experienced and didn’t feel were necessary or entertaining enough to visit a send time. The Lighthouse was one of them. The nerve of me, right??!! Well, I don’t do that anymore. Although this is my third visit there, I know there will be a forth experience to talk about.

Given, the lighthouse doesn’t change…the number of steps will never increase or decrease and you will always find your tush drawn to rest on that stone wall. However, it’s the elements that surround this little “place” that will make the experience different every time. Elements including weather…people…vegetation… etc. I was surprised to experience a couple of firsts during my third time there. One was tasting passion fruit. Not only a pretty fruit, but very sweet. The others are too personal to divulge.
