As hard as I tried NOT to be such a tourist ... I just had to scramble at the last moment and fetch out my camera to snap up the first views of Sweet Jamaica ..

flying in on Delta ... it felt as if I was seeing some different views out my window opposed to my usual NorthWest views.









I am always so very thrilled when I see these first views of Beloved ~

I just feel my Spirit begin to soar ~

smooth touch down ... smooth transition thru immigration and customs.

I listed nothing to declare - as per usual ~

I come in wheeling my stack of Pink Elephants ~ I have read that some "keep to the far left" ... so that is what I did ~ tried to keep left.

and OF COURSE - there was a new little station with 2 agents at the far left ... spied me coming - came out to ask what I was carrying ... what did I have to declare??

'nothing' ... just some clothing for my son, his girlfriend, me, a coffee pot, some spoons - box mac & cheese (just in case) and a cake mix and candles.

pulled me over to their "seek & find" station ...

lucky for me - they were convinced that the items were for my son & his GF ....

they did not find my stash of kitchen knives and load of various cooking spoons ...

Thank You Jesus ... no paying duty this round ~

I manage to exit and find a Clives sign holder ...

there was one other couple waiting - and they had only just arrived as well - so we loaded up and were soon on our way.

Lucky for me - the Mrs. was a big fan of making her own versions of jerk sauces and such ... so they did not mind me begging the chance to swing by Bigga on our way in.

We enjoyed a quick snack and drink and soon were back on our way to Negril ~

I told Mr. I had briefly seen a comment on the chat-boards that Toots was in Negril that night - my night of arrival. I begged him that we MUST go!!

We had some time ...

Kim came home from school, Marion arrived with her little 9 month old baby - we all went off to get a first round of groceries at ValuMaster.

I dropped into my bed to rest when we got home from groceries ~ the girls unpacked the bags and put things away.

Mr. went to the road to ask around for the news on Toots ... nobody knew not one thing about it. I must have read the chat board wrong ... he could find out nothing.

Of course - no sleep really comes to me the first night ...

so - we are up early - some get a little something for breakfast. I make coffee for the first time for us ~

We go off to Save for a household items shopping trip ...

I had tried to make a list of items we needed to make things in working order about the home -

sensory OVERLOAD ... We spend nuff time in Boscho ... fill a cart with this n that ~

I wish to use my mileage check card for our purchase ...

oh heck no!! I know I have a nuff balance in my checking account!!

reach for the phone with the international plan to call the bank .... and wait and sweat for about 10 minutes ....

wheewwww .... fraud protection had shut off use of the card ~ I had not called to alert them I was to be out of the country and using the card. I used the night before in ValuMaster & and Mr. used his card to get out a bigger sum of cash close to that same time ... and then they shut me down ..

once they knew it was really really me ... opened back up for business ...

we filled the back of a station wagon ...

I never really noticed lettuce ... it is a good thing to go back to view the photos and check what is available ... for next time ~




The produce we bought was so good and tasty ... Plus - I was very fortunate to have Marion around as The Cheif Cook while I was The Bottle Washer ....
