Marion was busy preparing the cooking for Sunday Dinner ...

Mr. went to try to get some more money out ... he was not successful ~ came back to pick me up to go to the internet cafe to sort out some money shifting ...

we head over to Blue Water on the West End ... The taxi pulls up and I look out my window to find the sign ... the one I had been hoping to find ...




Dear God in Heaven ... the stars had lined themselves up for me just right this time!!

I got so excited!! we talked about it ... decided that YES - we should definately go and get tickets. It would make another one of my dreams come true to be able to see Toots live in Jamaica ... at a small intimate venue ...

Every-Tyme Coffee Bar .... the music would be up on their roof top ... comfy chairs and only 78 other people included.

I belly up to the counter and beg the beautiful young lady for two tickets PLEASE!!

dash away some my joy in one little moment ... she is sad to inform me that the Toots show was two night ago ... on Friday night just past ... the night I arrived.

oh no ... I said she must call him and tell him to come back!!

The Owner - Aubie comes round to chat with us ... I begged him for his card so I can keep in touch and inquire when he will have Toots come back for a next show. I told him I will plan my trip around that show date.

he offered me two cards ... for 1/2 off a coffee drink of any sort ... but his phone number and e-address are not on the card ~

I never made it back up to find that information out ... will have to make connection with him somehow ...

it would totally be THE perfect setting for such an amazing night of music ... the place is just wonderful.

at one point, I had to fall back under a shade tree while they went on a mission to find some medicine for the little boy.

he got me a frozen bag juice and I watched as the scene moved by ....

we do not have any dining table and chairs yet ... some sit on the edge of an un-used bed frame in the front room ... others sit on the floor .... or outside just off the kitchen in the future breakfast nook verandah ...



the walls have had only one coat of paint back in 2005 ... they have 'settled' at bit - and need new paint - we talked colors & this n that ....

so - please forgive the non-finished bits around .... fresh paint and a new finish soon come ~

I am a true Jamaicaholic....pictures of pots, vegetables, traffic congestion makes my heart skip a beat. I can feel the heat, smell the smells thru the pictures. I need Jamaica Rehab bad bad.. Thanks so much for sharing your pics.

Your house is coming along nice indeed. I know that you must really be on a countdown for being there full time. Big up to your upcoming retirement.

{{Natts}} ... **sigh** Sweet Sweet Jamaica!! I loved the market day ~ we all knew it would be well HOT!! we were prepped for it. found shade when we could ~

what joy it was to just meander around and soak it all up ...

of course - we bought the two new pots from the first spot we came upon ... all the while - Marion had found more at the other end of the building selling for much less ...

oh well ... next time we need to "shop" rather than just "buy"!!

at one point - he was about to purchase a nice cake pan at nuff $$ ...

I stood back and observed ... he was forgetting that I had carried down two cake pans ~

I asked him the price and smuushed up my lips and slightly shook my head ... my eyes 'PLEADING OUT TO HIM' ~ NO!! we did not need to spend just to spend ...

he forgets what all is at home .... is not a list maker - but things can get so overwhelming while we are in the moment ... one needs to take stock prior to going of to the market and have a plan about what to buy ~ and what to leave till another time.

such good fun tho ... we had a wonderful day ~

I hear that! Bunny sent me out to get some craft supplies one day and I had to INSIST that we make a list including approximate prices so I was confident that I would not be overcharged. More time I ask how much something is and he doesn't know. mebbe he just don't want to tell me? he doesn't know I'm a professional bargain shopper.
