I hear ya ...

the bummer was ... nuff of the items hardly made it past the first use.

folks give me a hard time about what I carry down ... but gosh!! we bought a grater ... I used it for some soft cheese, and he used it to grate some sweet potato for pudding ~

that grater mashed up in his hands!!

we bought a rubbermaid sort of pitcher ... with a snap down lid with a pop up spout for pouring ... I used it once and the pop up spout was breaking out ~

what the hell???

we bought some single forks .... I needed to use one to try to untie a plastic baggie ... and the prong just flippen bent completely out of whack ~

I find it really really hard to spend out money on that sort of junk ~

I am not complaining .... we will continue to use our purchases ... but the level of quality is frustrating ...

so - we had no highchair for the baby ... Mom gave him a little dish of food that soon became just something to play with ...

bless his little heart ... he knew what that broom was for ~

he was funny to watch trying to clean up ..

Little Bwoy Child just loved his Uncle BimBim ..

no matter what - he always has time and loving care to offer to a child ~

The baby was sick with a cold and congestion ... and only his mother and Mr. could comfort him ...

He helped prepare some bush medicine for the baby ...

Marion brought him along to the sea side to dip him in the sea bath a couple different days ...

he would feel better and then slip back again .... we think we was teething as well ...

I'm still accumulating those pension years but seeing your pictures urge me to keep on...We've got painting and kitchen cupboards and other things still to do on ours. In due time

I hear you TOTALLY on that, Laurel...we were in a situation a couple years ago when the frig. that came with the house (not great looking because of rust, but was a dbl. door, imported from the US) kept giving us problems & we kept hiring "techies" to repair it.....this went on at least 3 times and with replacement of different parts with different repairmen.....we finally gave it to a next "techie" who now has it in his home and said it's working perfectly....just had to change the condenser (I think?)....anyway, we got forced into buying a new one here, because we had lost so much food from the previous one going in & out.....the hardware store in town allowed us to buy on credit & pay balance in 3 months to the tune of about $800 US, for a med. sized frig. with a "Frigidaire"label on it....let me tell you, this frig. is a piece of crap!!....about 18 months after we bought it (of course after the warranty had expired) it was covered with rust spots on the front (granted, we live on the sea)....PLUS there is no drainage in the bottom of it, so all the water goes into 2 receptacles in the back, plus collects on the bottom of the frig!!....all of these areas have to be emptied BY HAND with a sponge, at least twice a week or we get leakage all over the floor!!....just beware of where you buy your appliances!....I can't imagine that this one was a Frigidaire unless it was the Chinese "knockoff"!!

Monday morning - Dawta went off to school - Marion went to check her family;

he went to check the goats early in the morning, came upon something ~

when he was prepping the house prior to my arrival, a Golden Hawk flew into the house thru an open window.

Two days later, he came upon a second one - caught up in some bush. he pried it loose and carried it back to clean out the tangle brush from it's wings and body.

the bird was soon detangled - we wondered if it would be able to fly off ...

he released it and it flew up to the roof top of the home across the yard -

it sat up there and kept turning back to watch us / him ... stretched it's wings out - gained some strength back ...

soon it flew of - hopefully nice and strong.
