<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">so - he gets a female - highly sought after - a good breed ~ goat One takes 'notice' .... not sure he had his way with the new Miss ~ or if it might have been some other ram ... but - she gets a full belly, and gives birth to a nice couple of baby goats, one male & one female.
Mr. is thrilled.
well - not even 3 days pass, he is doing his evening care of his little herd ... each in their place.
he notices a group of guys (not from our neighborhood) watching his movements ...
next morning ... he reaches his goats to find two orphans ... mother gone ~ vanished.
he is devestated .... now what ?
oh man ... so - he does his bestest to do what he can to help these new babies survive ~
one makes it ... one gave up ~
so - he is down to just goat One and a baby with no mamma ...
you should see this motherless baby goat follow him around ... it will come calling out to him for milk / water / loving care ...
*sigh*

laurel, rex and i had many rows over him leaving his herd outside of his gates, he finallyt got it and brings them into the yard where there is an enclosure
one must protect one's dollars in jamaica enen though it was always done that way, (leaving tghe goats outside overnight)
thyme and scallion just scream Jamaica to me....if there'd been a piece of ginger and a country pepper (or two ) in this pic, I prolly would've fallen out of my chair
yes Jitters - I agree ... not sure what the answer will be ~
really sucks!!
he does not allow Goat One to PeePee in the yard ... so not sure he will do that ...
he will work it out ...
~~
Oh Dave ... those Dutchies ... I just LOVE THEM!! I have two I use here the states ... we started with two for the JaJa kitchen ... a couple variations ~ I know we will continue to build the collection.
I just love the market days as well ... altho - being it was my first day after arrival - I was BEAT!! little sleep leading up to the travel day ... no sleep on arrival ... it was ever so tiring - specially with the terrific heat ...
I did my best to keep up ~ I had hoped to go back the following Saturday ... but we girls landed at the beach instead.
~~
BOAL ... it does look like Dancing with Goats ~ he is funny ... hates to have his photo taken ... but will beg me to take an entire series of posing with Goat One ~
Dave - that is a really good question about the grater ...
I will check that out next time we go ~
I feel there HAS to be something available that is sturdier than the piece of tin foil with sharp holes we bought!! THAT might be the one!! THANKS for that observation ...
I will have to view the rest of my market shots more closely ... who knows what else I might find!!
Granny Peggy ... she is blind you know ... but - she chats that his face front view favors Shelly (mama) and his profile favor Fire (daddy) ... and his complexion is all me!!
she is so very proud of her one Grandson ... she has nuff GrandDawta's (3) ... but this is her first Grandson ...
normally Aunty takes her couple Red Stripes hot ...
but - it was so very hot HOT up there that day ... she asked to share my couple cold ones they had in the freezer for me ~
she prepared some special juice for me ... hmm - what was it? naseberry??
she is such a gracious hostess .... when she knows I am coming - she always take nuff care to freeze a block of ice for me to cool drinks for me.
I wished to return that niceness ... although our freezer is not big enough to take any container to make ice - I begged Mr. to use the Igloo I brought down last year & fill it with a couple bags of ice from someplace ...
he did not feel it necessary ... just cooled the drinks we offered in the fridge ....
Aunty asked me for some ice cubes / chunks ... I had to disappoint and say we had none.
