i missed air jamaica bad

CLIVES picked me up on time

rented a cell phone from them

and then headed to the unknown - caribbean sunset

looked at the pictures

PM'd Milo, PM tictoc, talked to a lady on orbitz

i knew where the place was

never stayed there

but hey let's see

looks a bit shabby

and the neighborhood is dodgey

right near the roundabout

up a gravel hill

okay view

pool table has a big tear in it

pool looks okay but a bit of mold around the tiles

little to no guests

check in was pleasant

but my room was not ready

no problem

abu and i head to the bar

i order

he wants something

it's finished

he wants something else

okay what do you have?

chicken

so chicken it is

my drinks are finished, food is finished

no room yet - so i head to the front desk and ask

they said soon come

so i decide to sit in the lobby and wait

after 3 hours - still no room
A lady passed me on the way to the restroom and said ‘you don’t look happy”
I said I’ve been waiting for a room for 3 hours or so
Finally a room was ready
We head to the back of the resort (if you can call it that)
Passed plenty of garbage
Up some steps
To a room with a view of a rusted mill, big and rusted, no view, no garden,
I can see the air conditioner on top of hilow, value master
And BLACK MOLD is taking over the bathroom

i'm soooo thankful for you sharing this Ms Seveen because i wanted to book this hotel before as well but wasnt sure

oh no ...

I am amazed at some of these places ...

if there is not alot of business ... WHY - why do they make you sit and wait on your room?? and why do they have you take the less desireable room out back with no view??

I said I don’t think this is going to work
I don’t want a room with BLACK MOLD
So we head back to the lobby – wait some more and then I see a room by the pool
I head to the bathroom – BLACK MOLD – almost no grout can be seen between the tiles – just mold mold mold
No thanks miss – I am here with my son and BLACK MOLD is dangerous – even more for him than me
So back to the lobby we go
A man arrives – gets his room key, his safe key and is off to his room
I wait . . .
Next room is ready to show – we pass dirty towels piled on the ground, saw some plastic bottles tucked away – even some tyres waiting for their next life
We reach the room - curtains hanging down, one overhead light and guess what was in the bathroom – BLACK MOLD – not one crevice of grout to be seen – I couldn’t image taking a shower without touching the floor, the wall, the shower curtain – YUCK
Back to the lobby – gibberish about me in patois – bla bla bla – I ask about the rooms I saw on the internet
“oh those rooms are king beds” they laugh
Okay room 4 – hardwood floors, two beds, better lighting, curtains still hanging down, no view of nothing, garbage strewn around, bathroom looks okay at first glance – but again BLACK MOLD and no safe
Now I’m hot, been in Jamaica for 5 hours and still have on my traveling clothes
And Marilyn appears – now she flew after me – took separate transport
But here she stands – checked in, changed and at my “resort” and I still don’t even have a room
That does it – I’m outta here
The manager wants to talk to me
Oh – you’re the lady that said “you don’t look happy” about 5 hours ago
I told her –

<span style="font-weight: bold">the longer it takes to make someone happy – the harder it is to make them happy</span>
She wanted me to sit down in her office –but I could see BLACK MOLD growing on her slip covers
I was nice - didn’t bumba anyone
But I got a taxi and headed out of there – I was ready to relax

i asked about it before going and got polite replies
but i say
NO
they are catering - lol - to europeans - that then go home and say jamaica is so poor - so sad

maybe they thought i was a newbie NOT
i hightailed my bahine out of there
with dust trailing me . . .
and the taxi driver admitted the place was

a DIVE

so after seeing 4 rooms at <span style="font-weight: bold">The Black Mold Motel</span>

i was headed to find a place to stay

first stop Bar B Barn

the front desk folks are happy to see me

i tell them a bit of my story

Angela (the general manager) appears and i grovel for a room

she says no problem and soon i have a key

i ask her what room am i in

her reply
&quot;Your room&quot;

finaly i feel peace as i walk down the path to the room abu and i know very well
