Hi Haki!

This is a road we hiked down to a blue hole in the Cockpits. I actually tried to drive it but gave up about halfway down and parked, too scared to mash up my rental car on the rocks...looks like gravel here but the rocks were at least fist-size and some larger. A jeep would have worked fine, but not a Corolla

But it was VERY worth the hike, which wasn't long at all, and the water was AMAZING.




Can you imagine such a place? I couldn't, not until I saw it. I've seen some nice rivers and nice blue holes before but this was just....WOW.

I can stand the sand for about 3 hours then I am done. I spent about that long that on the beach in Negril this trip, plus an hour or so for a wedding. And in neither case was I really sitting...that lasted for a half hour or so while I chatted with some friends.

Now if we are talking about DIFFERENT sand in different places, then I can do about 3 hours on each one, if it's nice

Unbelievably beautiful &amp; shockingly cold &amp; the best spring water I've ever drunk!!!....filled up 8 bottles to take home...now THIS is what Jamaica, land of wood &amp; wata is all about!!

It is not too far from our property Bandi, but the roads there are not easy, but bway, is it worth the drive, if you can find it. The first time we went looking for it, we got lost a couple times, but we just kept asking folks along the way and found it eventually.....and yes, once you get there it is a short walk to the blue hole. It is in St. Ann in the cockpits. If you have a truck or vehicle that's high off the ground, you can get all the way down to the actual place.

I have been studying the map - thinking on a drive trip ~ getting well familiar with the layout of the land. can you give me any hint on the surrouding community? towns around? river names? PM me if you wish

I probably will take a sumthing for decent 'off road' driving.

question specific to the actual swimming ... is it accessable only for the really able-bodied? jumping off a cliff to get in and climb a ladder or cliff to get out??

or can someone walk in and walk out of the water?

Laurel there is a sandy beach, very easy to get in. Little kids were getting a bath from their dad there when we arrived.
