Ten of us went to Canoe for dinner one night, and that proved to be a little more than the kitchen was ready to deal with
....Pooh swears that one of the cooks got a look at the bunch of us, took off his apron and went home 
....the wait for our meals was interminable, even by Island time standards.... and when the meals eventually were served, they came out in fits and spurts; some of us were finished eating while others were still waiting 
...
this is how I spent part of the 2 hour wait for dinner
....
I usually like Canoe, the food's good (but not cheap) and I like the vibe there, but we were all so tired by the time we ate that dinner almost became a chore......Comment

I normally wouldn't even consider eating pasta while I'm in Jamaica, but Angie's pasta with seafood was positively decadent
.....the creamy wine sauce is not as heavy as it looks.....

this is alpart, the bauxite processing factory, seen from spur tree hill, i take it. a number of my family used to work there. major employer for the area.

yes, these are views of the pedro plains from spur tree. somewhere down in the plains, skewed a bit more to the right, is the house i grew up in. you would have passed it (and my cousin's house in goshen), on the way to middle quarters.
