2 GIGs of photos LOST!~

I will post some of the photo's that made it, and keep trying to find somewhere that will recover the data that was lost on the 2gig SD card...


Ya'll know I love to share the beauty of JA and there were some AMAZING pics this time

This is a problem, it does not recognize the card at all... connected any way - through the camera, directly in the SD Memory Card slot, in the Kodak reader at CVS... no where...

I took the card to Wolf Camera and their image recovery software could not recover the images either the man say the card must have been physically damaged somehow, and that I need to find a place that will open it up and get the data off the chip inside

Driving in Jamaica was both liberating and frightening! It took some coaxing from hubby but I did it and am so glad I did!

google - damaged memory card - there is some stuff out there

did you call the manufacturer? or is - Ritz is Wolf = manufacturer? boo hiss

I believe SanDisk is the manufacturer... the response I got was that I need to send the card to a place to have the data recovered.
They recommend LC Technology who gives a discount on SanDisk devices... still the cost is $75 to $175 dollars! ho hum...

Great pics so far Bandanna. My vote: send the card to wherever you need and pay whatever the cost to recover the pics. If you have to wait &amp; save up to do it, it will be worth it. If you don't try you will always wonder...so that is worth the price of admission. It isn't going to expire in 30 days, so to speak, so you have time to put a little $$ away now &amp; then towards it.

What about the one place that was no charge if they can't recover the data? That sounded interesting, and better than keep paying places that say they can't do it.

Hang in there, I think you will get the images sooner or later. I would make sure that anywhere you send the card, if they cannot retrieve the data, they will send the card back to you. If nobody can do it today, in 6 months they may come up with a way!

Thanks Nanook, I am going to keep trying to get the photos recovered, but I can't see spending more than it would cost me to fly to JA and do it all over again

Sorry to hear about the loss of pics Mrs B. But that still dont mean u cant write a trip report. Would still enjoy it even without pictures
